What's your favourite of the original Marvel Graphic Novel line, /co/?
For me it's probably Dreadstar, though I always thought the Futurians was a fun idea. Great opening too. I still haven't read Killraven, I need to get around to that some point.

Not OP, but Marvel had a line of OGNs in the 80s that was literally called the "Marvel Graphic Novel" line, which is explicitly what OP is referring to in his post.

is REALLY good; the choice to use semi-realistic art to show how emotional and affected stephen gets was a spot on.it also makes you reflect on life and death through the challenges the ancient one throws at him( like not even being dead stops him from testing their former student) and yeah they also brought that 'background character from the 60s that appeared once but now suddenly matters ' thing.
i know it sounds overused but in the strange series it was actually the first time they did that.

I have a handful of these in my collection.

Spider-Man Hooky is an interesting one for the Bernie Wrightson art.

Daredevil Love and War is a classic with one of the best k\Kingpin depictions ever.

I really do enjoy the artwork in Silver Surfer Judgment Day.

And Death's Head The Body in Question was a personal grail of mine, so I will always have a fondness for it.

The Incredible Hulk and the Thing: The Big Change is a really good one. Possibly the single most underrated thing by either Jim Starlin or Bernie Wrightson.

Sam Glanzman is THE single most underrated war comic writer of all time. If you have even a passing interest in the genre then you really owe it to yourself to look into his work.

A solid contender for the best Shadow story ever published in comics. If you've ever been curious about the character, but don't know where to start, then this is a good intro. And the art is breathtaking.

Epic printed at least 3 books in this format that I know of.

This, Strange Adventures and Elektra Lives (although that is oversized even for these books).

Weird to think that John Byrne's fourth-wall-breaking version of She-Hulk debuted in an original graphic novel. It's basically the prototype for her later ongoing.

>the single most underrated thing by either Jim Starlin or Bernie Wrightson.

Probably because it's a comedy and everybody labels Starlin as Mr. Cosmic and Bernie as Mr. Spooky
