I've been watching it and while I don't think it's some amazing masterpiece, it seems almost perfectly constructed for its target audience. Feel like I don't see that much.

Yeah, people complain OG Ben's a little shit (and he is) who can't properly develop (which he doesn't) but he's relatable in a Greg Heffley sort of way you don't see often anymore because people don't want to risk their protagonist being "unlikable"
