Whatever other complaints people have about Smallville, the early camaraderie and grievances between Clark and Lex felt well written. Both were too independent, paranoid yet driven to compromise, which perfectly explained why they could be on the same page yet at odds on things going forward.

I put it up there with DMC3 Dante and Vergil tier in being so simple but substantial the more you think on it. Of course it eventually becomes cartoonish once the Metropolis stuff builds up, but I don't consider a full course meal bad because the dessert was stale.

It has a Prince of Egypt feel towards it. And you'll never see anything like this again.

The finale with Lex was so ridiculous, they needed to explain why Lex doesn't know who Superman is so in the last episode he gets his memory erased, but they explicitly say his ENTIRE memory is erased, but he's somehow still able to run a company and isn't a complete vegetable.

Rewatching it I guess they say he forgets every person he ever met but knows how to read and stuff presumably, still makes no sense.
