Did Tiny Toons and Animaniacs basically have the same sensibilities and vibes or were they distinct enough? They always felt like the same show, except Tiny Toons was more willing to have longer stories, while Animaniacs was a sketch show

TYA Vibe: Hello fellow kids! We're the coolest people ever, and we'll show you how to be cool, too!
Animaniacs: Hi, we're just here to entertain you by being wacky and funny. Also, if you piss us off, get ready to face extremely annoying vengeance.

The staff’s tastes went through enough changes to where certain vibes shifted between shows. Tiny Toons was full of celebrity worship while Animaniacs featured them as a source of mockery more for example. Another is that the former had to make some ham-fisted very special episodes while the latter routinely rejected having such blunt morals. Basically by Animaniacs, the networks and Spielberg gave them noticeably more creative freedom.

The characterizations were all over the place. Sometimes they were cartoon characters, sometimes they were actors playing a role, sometimes they were kids doing generic kid things.

I know TTA had an underaged drinking and smoking episode and an episode where three 14 year old girls tried to get raped but what I didn't know was they had a character dedicated to swearing. When I first saw Fowl Mouth, he fake sweared. But apparently in the first season, they bleeped him and it sounded funnier. Every sentence was a bleep. I don't think Animaniacs or any modern cartoon could get away with that.

Basically this.
TTA had a much friendlier attitude but came across dorkier because they did think they were very cool.
Animaniacs was a little edgier but often came across as smug and self-important.
Both shows share similar DNA but I’d say Tiny Toons definitely comes across more “network/executive mandated” while Animaniacs comes across as the writers’ true vision.

Please, no more autism. These 2 shows are cursed. Cursed to summon the same 2-3 anons who will make you wish you died (or killed them).

Now that you mention Babes and Dot were pretty similar too.
