Which is better? The movie or the TV show?

TV show, The movie wanted to be two conflicting things at once (A heartfelt Disney ripoff about father-son relationships and growing up to take responsibility and a kid-friendly frathouse comedy )

Both are good. Movie is a sweet, surprisingly deep story about growing up. Show is fucking hilarious, literally one of the funniest cartoons I've ever seen. Some of the best slapstick ever and they did it somehow in 2000s CGI.

The movie can't decide what it wants to be. The shows has a defined and consistent tone from the get go. The later is better for that reason alone.

Was the show a AU of sorts? I could never figure out whether it was a prequel or follow up to the movie back when it was airing.

Well that's two similar sentiments already. I've only seen the Barnyard movie at the moment, but it was hilarious. I didn't mind the mix of wacky comedy with genuine heart and peril. All I know of the show is various DrPig memes that have come my way in recent years, but I'm sure the full thing works to this franchise's strengths overall.

I liked both
Show is funnier but the movie hits hard as a late bloomer coming of age story
