What are they even going to do for a sequel? Gantu doesn't exist. Jumba is an actual villain. Does Jumba come back and be the villain again? Do they try to fix their fuck up and do his redemption in the sequel? Do they bring in Hamsterviel? Do they just make up an entirely new villain? Does Stitch leave Lilo and go to college?

The part where Stitch almost died in Stitch Has a Glitch also already happened in the remake, I think? And the rest of that movie is Pleakley and Jumba getting along with each other and the rest of their surrogate family, and David trying to fuck Nani who's too tired to fuck him back because she's busy being Lilo's guardian. So yeah, I don't think they can borrow a single thing from that movie which is also the most soulful L&S sequel. This doesn't bode well.

Maybe they could stitch together stuff from the show and its bookend movies and shoehorn Jumba's redemption arc into that mess. Or don't redeem him at all. He can just continue being Gantu's replacement. It would be weird to introduce Gantu at this point. I mean, he wouldn't be the same character as in the cartoon, and disney clearly didn't care enough to put him in the first remake, so why do this now?

They could also ditch all the ugly aging human actors and horrifying CGI monsters and make a movie all about Stitch and his fluffy cousins with special focus on Stitch's romance with Angel. This garbage will print money so that's probably what they're gonna do. Like maybe not in the direct sequel, but in Stitch 3. That little girl won't stay small and cute forever.
