Why does Marvel keep giving this nigga new powers? Miles is basically Silver Age Superman now where the writers kept powercreeping him every other issue.

Among other things, his main writer these days is a fat black faggot who self-inserts as him and has like zero self awareness and presumably just watches anime hype moment compilations on tiktok and claps without any context so he has no idea how to even write the shounen hero he wants Miles to be.

>flexible enough to be useful solo or in any team
>not too OP to kill the tension
>look cool even when drawn by a mediocre artist
Anything beyond Peter's debut issue powers are gay and unnecessary which is why they're always retconned and never make it into media outside comics. Same goes for all the Spider-niggas that came after him (except Miguel who's actually got unique shit going on).

That wasn't a power creep.
Raimi's Spider-man had organic webs, so comics needed to and needed a bullshit reason.
Then Garfields Spider-man had web shooters, so he needed to lose the organics.

If MCU Spider-man had organic webs again, 616 would too.

Ignoring organic webs because they were pure synergy, The Other was at least part of a storyline and the new abilities made some amount of sense, even though said story sucked and Peter doesn't need extra powers.
The point being that Peter got extra powers for an explainable reason, Miles just pulls new ones out of his ass like in the OP pic

And the good ones will coast on their personality, ideals and history in order to balance that out. Superman may or may not be able to punch a planet to pieces but regardless of if he can or can't he's still Superman. Miles doesn't have a personality. A history. What he has is the exaggerated swagger of a black teen.

Except is not shonen. As straightforward as the formula is, Miles' writers don't seem to even undestand it. The MC gets power ups yes, he's the most special person in the setting yes but they often have humble beginings or have some kind of wound (physical or emotional). The reason the power ups get hyped is because they come after a series of struggles (sometimes spaning multiple arcs) so it's a reward for their hard work, and him being "the chosen one" doesn't take anything away from it. That's not the case with Miles. He doesn't struggle, he's just special and that makes him boring.
I'm pretty sure the writers have never read shonen like this anon said

Isn't that literally what the spider sense has always done, detect the source of danger? In the first spiderman movie when gg wanted to stab peter from behind with his glider he felt it and saw it coming even though it was from behind (then somehow couldn't avoid being stabbed by gg in the tom movie)

Also to answer your question, miles is literally every nigga self insert, nobody cares about making him a well written character or even likeable, he just has to be the greatest because that's what they want to push for the dei agenda/blacked porn addiction.

>shonen being full of struggle
Half the time the shonen protags don't struggle either, they end up maybe getting a half-episode training arc, or they're losing against the main villain, remember their friends, then WHOA HE'S UNLOCKED 6TH LEVEL RYUUKAI I THOUGHT THERE WAS ONLY 5???? NANIIIIIIII?????
Or you get shit like "this makes you super powerful, but don't use it too much or you'll break your body permanently and never be able to walk again" and then the MC uses it too much one time and suffers for about five minutes in the episode and every time after that he can just use it whenever.
Like sure, shounen's got struggle, but they never really struggle for very long, and the only struggle most series even have is that the villain(s) go up exponentially in power every time the anime has a high-budget episode so that the MC has to go through the same recurring cycle forever like some kind of Japanese Sisyphus, getting one new big powerup right before each finale.

>>149261907
Spider sense never let Spider-man see through walls, it's more like a "feeling", that kind of "hair standing on the back of your neck when you step down the wrong alley" kind of thing but 10x better, giving Peter a chance to hop out of the way. I mean they probably have drawn it in different ways over the years, but that's the gist of it.
Miles here is straight-up just seeing through walls because the writers still can't find a way to claw back the popularity the Spider-Verse movie(s) gave him.

It cracks me up that they're so hellbent on finding out how to make Miles work in 616 due to Spider-Verse's popularity when the reason why Miles was well-received in Spider-Verse was because he was explicitly a legacy who needed mentoring from established heroes, which means they'd be better off sticking him back in the Ultimate Universe.

I don't get Miles. I mean, this is obviously made to appeal to normalfags and powerlevelfags. But I don't know the explanation of why he gets so many powers. It would make sense for Peter. Radioactive spider, constant mutations. But he doesn't gets them because his powers are already good enough, changing then changes what Spider-Man is about. The only one I accept is the spidersense, it has multiple uses. But it still can fail if he doesn't reacts fast enough. He can use it for his spidertracers, but they can't cover an extremely long distance. And that function is very limited. He can sometimes detect specific people, but just where they are. Not exactly who or how they look, or even how many they are. I mean, the spider sense can sometimes be a weakness. And then you have this fag. Who will eventually have laser eyes, telekinesis, telepathy, lift 100 tons, and the ability to time travel.

Peterโ€™s spider-sense can literally sense when someone is a bad guy without them physically trying to attack at that very moment. It's a radio wave that lets him "feel" the things going on around him like a spider's web. He can sense people's motivations by reading their biometrics and is even able to sense the Chameleon's "bad intentions" to locate him in a pitch black room. He's able to use it to make out what a burned up letter said, and has on at least two occasions received a wireless telegram from both Chameleon and Doctor Doom, and also used it to sense when a group of people cleared away from the front of his house so he could sneak out as Spider-Man without being seen. It doesn't work on stationary iron objects, and as a radio wave can be interfered with as originally Mysterio used a radio transmitter to control his illusions that dampened his Spider Sense and he can't sense people who are underwater unless he is also in the water.

Spider-sense has always had a bit of vagueness to it and, especially in the early days, just did whatever the story needed like sense a crime in progress from blocks away or pick a specific person Spider-Man is looking for out of a crowd
More consistently it can allow Spider-Man it infiltrate a building, avoiding not only guards but also sensors and cameras before we moves into them
It's really context sensitive because along with being automatic Spidey can choose what now counts as a threat and key it to spider-sense

>>149264043
Yeah, but most of the time when it's something zany and off the wall, it's for some short-term one-off. Just within Spider-Verse 1, he already had all of Peter's powers, plus invisibility and his not-lightning touch (possibly more durable too considering the ending, but that's up to interpretation.) Nowadays they're slapping powers onto him left and right like they're patching holes in a cartoon rowboat, and he keeps a good number of them because the writers can't be assed to come up with better ways to make people give a fuck.

True, but with Miles it is ridiculous. Look at Miguel for example. He has some of the powers Peter has, and also others. But he doesn't have every single one of Peter's powers, and his new ones imply new weaknesses. At least there is a compromise. Miles doesnt have that. With him it's upgrades and then more upgrades. I'm honestly sad. We could have a good new Spider-Man. Black? Sure, why not. He could even be Asian, whatever. But instead we got Miles, the untouchable faggot. You don't like him? >Wall crawling relies on claws on his fingertips and toes.
>He has fangs with a paralyzing venom
>Organic webs, web shooters are replaced with the cape
>Accelerated Vision, a more "hard scifi" replacement of the spider-sense.
I think that's what stand out, on top of being the exact opposite of Peter in terms of context and personnality.

Marvel's going to power creep Peter again because they have been powercreeping Miles, Eddie, Kaine and even fucking Spider-Gwen. Peter's the main draw, so of course he's going to be power crept eventually. The whole Hellgate saga is just a shonen training arc for Peter.

The main purpose of the Miles Morales's book is to train artists to draw in the new Marvel European house style, so there's always a bunch of guest stars, NYC is heavily featured and it's more action heavily than any other Marvel book. So Miles gets more powers and werid situations an artist might see when they graduate to another book. You can see the artist pipeline from Miles Morales to all the other higher tier books.
