>Indie creation/book becomes Vtuber
.....Huh? I vaguely remember /co/ occasionally talking about this series but never paid attention to it. Is it like a kickstarter scam where someone is desperately trying to make Kamen America a thing, or is this like a cult following kinda book that's worth checking out?

Credit where credit is due, unlike all the comicsgate dorks they manage to actually put product out.
It is funny that everything that they're riffing on, the Carol Danvers relaunch, MHA, are long out of the spotlight or just ended.
But at least not as badly aged as their Izuku Mike Pence comic.
I wonder if they got someone else or it's another case of 50 year old men using voice changers to sound like women.

Honestly?
Half and half
There's a genuine fanbase but it's also pretty fucking overhyped and they do pay popular online artists to make "fan art" (which honestly is kind of no different from usual variant cover art).

She started as what's basically a shitpost with /pol/ memes that originated from a pro-Trump MHA parody comic
I guess she's still the "alternative" comic for people who dislike obnoxious progressivism in comics but like, you don't have to resort to KA for that or cheesecake.
She comes across as a character tailor made for trad conservative weebs who for some reason wanted to read an American superhero comic instead of you know, manga?
Are they still affiliated with Orbital Bacon even after the Swastika flag incident?

I think this is why chud media never has legs. There's never much of an idea behind it beyond wanting to see their ideology reflected back to them, and most of that is just a reaction to
>obnoxious progressivism in comics
as you said. There need to be a bit more of idea there, but they never seem to get that far.

I saw plenty of Japanese fan art (I follow westaboos and I kept seeing this cunt's face) and they had their own themed store for a while
Now yes admittedly a lot of that art they paid for themselves but it couldn't have been ALL of it
I honestly doubt it would've been as "popular" had they not done that or translated the comic in Japanese. I know that's basic common knowledge but I also figured westaboos would latch onto all sorts of comics if they had the chance to read them

The comic is boring, the characters aren't interesting, and it's not even sexy. The only thing it has going for it is that it exists. The comics were posted here and nobody cared. Even the threads people actually showed up to they were just talking about the politics around while ignoring the comic itself.

Cartoon westaboos are more common than comic westaboos, go figure.
Same shit as here.
Most comic westaboos (off the top of my head) I've seen fall under these camps
>Marvel/DC
>Hellboy
>Peanuts
>Transformers
>Scott Pilgrim
Or a mix of the above
So yeah, basically like us'
There are diehard comic westaboos who run fanzines, keep up with interviews, etc but finding someone who's into that and also draws is hard to find
One of the artists I follow did Usagi Yojimbo art and said he was confused why the comic never came out here
I kind of find it funny how when he was asking for suggestions on who to draw, Lim was in the comments trying to convince him in Japanese to draw Kamen America which he did not

He'd probably draw futa porn of her if he was remotely interested anyways

>>149263536

I doubt he'd be all for MASS legal immigration but even in that pro-Trump comic they had a visual gag where when the giant evil luchadors crossing the border, some Mexican woman was holding up a legal pass or whatever.

I don't think Japanese fans have much of a clue about any of the culture war stuff, they just see it as cute American superhero. They're aware of it being political satire and having some stances, but the bigger deal isn't part of the appeal. It's an american comic who's theme leans towards American but aesthetics are appealing enough to Japanese sensibilities

I think they understand the idea of making characters less pretty or different races for political purposes . The greater reasons why may be lost to them. I just think they see it as another dumb , possibly litigious thing Americans do because they make a big deal over policing entertainment, not that they would know what sides there are.
