Why would he work with random new people if he's already got a core group of people he's comfortable making stuff with? I mean I get it, it'd be awesome to work with him too, but isn't it intrusive to think he's gotta hand out work to random people especially since this is probably he's paying out of his own pocket for?

Yeah probably but meximericans like it and it's recognizable to americans too so lucha libra it is. I think there are few from mexico centered around legends or myths so there's that, live action shows/soaps are still more popular over there so you also less variety in cartoons.
