The REAL best answer is the Superboy TV show.
Sure, being Superboy he doens't get to have Lois or the Planet, but the core of the character is there, especially Season 2 onward. Gerard Christopher might be the most underrated Clark actor.
Lois and Clark is fine, but it does feel like they didn't embrace the comic aspect as much as the superboy show did. So many episodes feel like they could've been one-off comic stories from the 50's-70's.
It's a shame this show is so burred these days.

You guys are just obsessed with the actor for Superman, the actual plots and writing of the episodes is superior to any other Superman adaptation out there. Its effortlessly charming and dramatic while still having adventurous elements and basically nothing but the reeve movie (first one) matches it.

The low key way Newton approached playing both identities is an interesting anomaly in retrospect. He came off very believable despite being, letโ€™s face it, a male model with minimal talent. But his instincts were good. And he joked about fucking Stacy Haiduk on a dvd commentary so I commend his chadness.

it's not better than Lois and Clark (and way more low rent) and it's not that closer to the comics either, only sporadically
It did have the blueprint for Red Son, Injustice, etc though

true perhaps more for stories from the late 1960s and early 1970s, which were nowhere near the best writing for Superman, and yes, it was partially due to >>149278823 this but again, because these were not people trained as screenplay writers, their plots were more 'story ideas' by and the budgets and other constraints were very obvious, a good example of this is the stupidity of the very AU Mxy episodes (notwithstanding the perfunctory nod to the comic costume)
