Can fake most spider powers, gives shape shifting and has pretty good healing.

I'd want a symbiote if its perfectly bonded with me like Carnage. I wouldn't want a voice in my head constantly

When I found out organic webs only started in the movie I just thought "then what powers does he even have?". Like what he's sort of super strong but not top guy strong, he can climb but that's boring. You ask somebody "what does Spider-Man do?" they'll say "he shoots web, he's the web slinger" but he doesn't, that isn't a power, anybody could shoot web. It makes you web shooters super lame because instead of being a way to pretend to Spider-Man that is just literally how he does it

Yeah, as a kid I always thought it was weird that of all abilities, shooting webs wasn't his natural one. Like you're telling me if Peter was just a normal person without super genius he'd be missing the high speed web slinging he's known for?

Well, it depends.
How far back are we going with symbiote lore? If it is pre Knull, Space Knight, and Tom Hardy movies, then yes if it is a new symbiote who will love me like the black suit loved Peter, even if it isn't a descendant of Venom and doesn't have the extra juice it got from bonding with Spider-Man.
Otherwise Spider powers. Even without webshooters I'd be able to do a lot more, and it would help me see without glasses which would be nice.

Symbiote is just an upgrade in every way except for mindbreaking you into a psychopath. But they've shown you can wear a symbiote with this drawback in the last couple of decades. Which might be muddying the 90s TAS message, but whatever, symbiotes are cool.

Actually what could spider powers do if it we're more fully advanced?
I mean I could see some sort of poisonous use, and better vision.

TAS wasn't ever how symbiotes were in the comic story. There was no corruption angle to black-suit Spider-Man or Venom, the cartoon just did it to make it more explicitly good vs. evil

Spider-Sense when trained, at least in one universe(which technically means in an infinite number given the multiverse), allows for full on precognition. There are also some of "The Other" upgrades like organic webbing, wrist stringers, and there is stuff like the Mark of Kaine. Spider bite does actually give him better vision though, and I could see something like camouflage or venom being possible depending on the type of radioactive spider, or spider idol, or spider-god giving you the powers.

Yeah but if he has a Spider-Man logo it just seems like he came from Venom rather than the other way around. Which obviously he is in a meta sense, but in universe he's supposed to be the big guy.

The thing is, Knull isn't an organic creature or a symbiote himself, he's a dark god and symbiotes are thus, turned into a supernatural creature not an organic one. They're not aliens under knull, they're his little minions, his Heartless from Kingdom Hearts

This is my main problem with it, it just totally takes what symbiotes are, Marvels nod to like horror/scifi, and turns it into more dark fantasy shit more fitting of Thor than anything which is no surprise they tied it all to Thor
