Its a combination of many factors. Not being able to afford a commission, not liking beanface and cal arts in general, speed and somewhat efficiency, being able to get mostly what they want no questions asked, able to get the style of artists they like and have them do things the artist would've never wanted to do.

I am no artist. I couldn't draw my way out of a paper bag. I've accepted this cruel disappointment and instead take every opportunity to commission and support actual artists who are making content I want to see more of. I don't want actual artists to be replaced, but I do want them to realize that AI is just another tool in their arsenal, one that's admittedly still imperfect and in early days, and one that they can make use of or not as they choose, but a tool all the same.

The only people I want to see replaced are the people who, like me, have no fucking aptitude for making art, but who, unlike me, insist they should still get money for it: Webcomic makers who drag along hundred of patrons for years just rearranging the same cut-and-paste assets every week; people who think typing a company's name in a white sans-serif font and slapping it on a plain single-color background is "graphic design"; etc.

Most artists do that already, thankfully. Most of the objections primarily seem to come from the people whose art is being scraped for data without referencing or acknowledging them. And it's not a new thing, artists have always been fighting against having their art taken and edited/repurposed without giving them an inch of credit. And most who just use AI prompting as is don't seem to really get that's the main beef there, the lack of acknowledgement to the efforts of the guys whose work their generated images are built upon in part. That and the money-making, but mostly the lack of credit.

As a draw-fag, it was kind of inevitable and a slow rolling train wreck that had been coming for a long time now. Between 3rd worlders able to undercut all competition with artists in countries that have a higher GDP and AI, it is what it is. Although I think SFW is kinda fucked. Yeah, I'd agree with that. Art takes a long time and each person's learning is different and different people will see wildly different results and improvement speeds. Be it genetics, mental aptitude, natural talent, and/or the actual studying material/technique/approach. To improve, you really need to be locked in to what you are doing. Something that "I" don't have the energy or time for anymore and I know some popular artists (especially successful nsfw in discrete draw-fag Discord servers) who either have all the time in the world to improve or are in cheaper countries who can undercut comms and just live life up drawing what they want and improve there. But most draw-fags are usually lumped in the same category as myself I assume, normal job with an abnormal hobby that takes up quite a bit of time and studying, especially if they enjoy nsfw on the side, so you can't really share it with normies so it just becomes a headache at some point.

I've contemplated moving to Indonesian, the Philippines or Japan (used to live in Japan for a short time) but the money is inconsistent for commishes and idk if I have the motivation to draw coom all day. I think it's far more for niche stuff and might take away a "small" amount of the market, but not much. I think it'll impact the corporate world harder. The way I think I'd describe it is that AI right now is still in its "late 90s/early 00s Flash" era: People are still figuring out how the toolset works and the basics of what it can do and how to do it. I think in another year or two, maybe three, once we start seeing some more reliable and user-friendly LLMs and other ML tools, we'll finally transition into a more refined "mid 2000s Flash" era where people have a solid enough grasp on the basics that they can start using it in earnest; we'll start seeing this new tool's equivalents of Weebls, Swains, Egoraptors, Chulaids, etc. start putting out content that actually gets people excited about what you can do artistically with it.
