Generally Hanna-Barbera is underrated when it comes to its action offerings in the 60s. Hell they even had a sort of connected universe of sorts in animation form before it was something people remotely understood.

>sequel in the '90s
Talk about a mismanaged sequel, it feels that its failure is what led HB to drop actions cartoons.

So what exactly did Dr. Quest "do"? The man was clearly loaded out the ass, he had a jet and a boat and a mansion and everything. And he kept getting invited places and honored like he was this globally important figure. What was he? Just some major super-scientist? It kind of makes sense that Venture Bros. pokes fun at the very idea of it so much, the whole thing's a bit absurd.

He's very knowledgeable about indigenous tribes, there's this one episode where he and this other guy are the only civilized people who know how to speak with these pygmies, and the other guy gets captured

He was the "go to" science/engineering guy for cold war 60's US Government. Race was his bodyguard to prevent him or his kid being captured. In the old Comico comic series it was his dead wife who was rich.

They had a marathon of it on boomerang yesterday, never saw it before but I really enjoyed how pulp the show was, art style was great too and the animation wasnโ€™t that bad either for the 60โ€™s. Hadji is such a weird character though, like I get heโ€™s like Bentonโ€™s adopted son but why is still dressed like an Indian? Did he want that or do they just keep buying him turbans? In the Red Baron episode he prays to God with Jonny before bed

He only recently joined them, there's an episode that shows how. He was an orphan partly raised by a street peddler who's angle is that he talks like a 60's hepcat despite being an Indian street merchant. Hadji adopts some American culture but still prefers to dress the way he did in India because he's just used to it.

Because it was originally made for prime time viewing, not Saturday morning. Because of that, it had fewer content restrictions. If you've seen the originals rather than the edited versions that ran on Saturday morning, you can see the difference.

It's not a bad show, but the weird thing is that it's basically two different JQ relaunches mashed together. "Season 1" was based off a reboot where as "Season 2" was more a continuation. Different voice casts and designs, too. What happened was the crew for the first show fell behind and production was a disaster, and the crew for the second was brought on to finish up the first season while working on their own show.
In truth there's not actually two different seasons, the last of 1 and beginning of 2 aired intertwined so some 2's have earlier premier dates than 1. Ultimately it works well enough that, besides the voice/design changes, there's not any real contradictions and Season 2 uses the Season 1 villains at times, along with using the Questworld stuff.

Yeah the quest world stuff doesnโ€™t age well but I feel like Ezekiel Rage was a great add to the canon and the kids are aged up just enough to get some angst without going too far off the kid adventurer motif.

Jennifer Hale Jessie was also was doing it for me at a formative time.

CN barely even acknowledges the show whenever they do some "remember the classic Cartoon Network shows" stuff and fucking Real Adventures might as well not even exist.
