First movie has a college age Peter become Spider-Man, while his teacher becomes The Lizard

Second movie has him living with MJ working at the Bugle, struggling to adult and JJJ funds Scorpion to compete with Spidey, under the assumption that he's a charleton anyway, but Scorp goes nutso. Scorpion is redesigned to be red or brown or something instead of green

Third movie has Green Goblin, Norman and Harry have been built up in the previous movies, culminating in the Goblin now. Eddie Brock is introduced as a minor antagonist working at the Bugle. End of movie teases the symbiote

Fourth movie is all about Venom, Peter is stalked and tormented, MJ is horrified, in the end Peter saves Eddie's wife and he doesn't kill Peter

Spinoff R rated movie, Venom Lethal Protector. Street level crook slayings, Life Foundation fuckery, they steal Venoms baby, it escapes captivity and bonds to serial killer Cletus by pure bad luck

Final movie, Spider-Man and Venom vs Carnage. Side characters Shriek and Black Cat join the fight. It's over the top, too long, and action packed, series over

No the first movie takes place over the course of his last year of high school right after Uncle Ben's death. The villains are the sinister six. He beats the first five over the course of the movie then Doc Oct releases them in the final act. Two is him in college with Green Goblin as the villain.

Not bad, but a little too run of the mill in my opinion. Especially after reading the Lee/Ditko run The Lizard was originally just a one off guy from FLORIDA of all places. The retcon of making him Peter's teacher is just a hamfisted way of simplifing things that also makes it a bit more lame even if it sounds god on paper. It was fun seeing Peter go to Florida, ditch JJ, and hangout with Connor's family while he tried to figure out what was going on.

Also, the Green Goblin was originally just a charlatan and cheap thug that was over the top. In his original appearance he tricks a Hollywood jew into convincing Spider-Man to fly out to Hollywood to film a movie version of his life story and the Goblin's entire plan is during their "stunt fight" he's going to attack him for real and unexpectedly kill him. Then he gets punk'd in his next appearance by a loan shark. Retconning the Goblin into Pete's Joker and the whole pathos with Harry being his friend, while an improvement, was a later addition and not something that necessarily needs to be told and retold over and over and over again like it's integral to his character.

I kinda want it to be run of the mill because every Spider-Man movie series so far has had too much originality, too much reinvention. What I really want is kind of a definitive series, doesn't mean it's exactly the same as the comics, but has the right spirit and characterizations that are most well known

I opt for Peter starting later just because the high school setting is overdone and I'm sick of the kidcoms vibes or people in their 20s playing kids

Nah, Peter and Harry as roomies, is better than him living with MJ while she figures out her modeling career and she skips college in movie 1.

Movie 2 Peter and MJ meet up face to face at a gala he's shooting at for the Bugle with Eddie but Peter is currently dating Betty. MJ's career is taking off but she's vaping and popping pills to keep up with the demand.

Movie 3 They graduate, Harry moves out Peter breaks up with Betty for Felicia but when she finds out who he is she doesn't want to pursue a relationship. MJ's basically a world class Super Model at this point but she looks miserable and Peter can barely pay rent. They meet up again at the end of the movie after some disaster and start to trauma bond.

Movie 4 MJ and Peter are dating and getting closer but his secret identity and her addiction problems are causing a strain. MJ doesn't care that Peter doesn't make much money but he feels emasculated by it. The Venom Symbiote exacerbates this trait and he starts threatening to take his photo's to other publications. JJJ plays hardball and tells him he'll blacklist him if he tries to to pull that crap. Black Suit Spider-Man harasses JJJ by webbing him to the Bugle sign but Peter doesn't remember doing it.

Another PG-13 Carnage movie? Fuck off.

There's not a single Carnage 90s Carnage comic with graphic kills, it's kinda funny actually, people remember Carnage events in comics being blood soaked but they weren't, Venom comics actually had more violence since he killed bad guys and liked to suffocate them, Carnage slices innocent people apart but it's never been shown, and oddly enough the Carnage stories tended to have a more "fun" vibe than the Venom ones because his personality was so over the top

Dock Ock doesn't really have a good origin, and he's not great for action. Yes about one scene of him playing keep away would be cool, but a whole movie that needs at least two or three fights?

This is why Raimi's Ock was given The Lizards characterization, and for absolutely no reason could tank Spider-Man's blows (even though, the same movie tells you he doesn't have powers, because Aunt May rocks his shit in with her umbrella)

Goblin doesn't need to be set up for 3 movies. Norman as an antagonist is easy to insert in any story.

trilogies are good enough, nobody needs a 4th movie. Venom could be the villain that gets set up in the span of an entire trilogy because of his more personal issues with Peter as Spider-Man.

I'm sick of Eddie Venom, if we're going to give him another movie then the host has to change, make it Flash as Agent Venom just for the sake of something different.

Maximum Carnage is not a good bookender. it has to be a story that gives Peter closure with MJ or Spider-Man, that's always the reason why they can't be together. it's not fair for Peter to want to be with MJ while being at the whims of Parker guilt. I'd recommend Miles V1 or One More Day.

You're right about Venom could use that long, but also doesn't need it, it can be short and sweet, setting up Eddie, then introducing Venom in two films

Flash Venom has nothing to do with Spider-Man, if you want an Agent Venom movie, it has to be a spinoff of a Venom movie, which should ideally be a spinoff of a Spider-Man movie

Maximum Carnage, I think does work as a bookend because it has a moral central to Spider-Man, not one I agree with, but one integral to how people today view Peter. The whole message of Maximum Carnage was that Peter didn't have to change to fit the darker heroes forming around him, he didn't have to become Venom to still save the day

As for the MJ shit, that's on you, I never cared about romance it's just a subplot to me, the meat is the hero and the villain

Well my idea isn't just him going crazy. The film starts with JJJ funding some "superhero" so he can control the headlines instead of Spider-Man, the middle part would be Scorpion showing up Spider-Man and Peter dealing with it because he knows something is "off" about the situation, and then the cracks show themselves, the process that made him into Scorpion fucked his brain, he becomes unhinged and violent, starts wrecking shit all power crazed and fully turns villainous, and Spider-Man has to stop him
