Also, to add to note, the US had recently come out of a Civil War (1865, 40 to 50 years before WWI) and the multiple other nearby conflicts at their own doorstep (Notably against Mexico) leading up before the First World War, so it wasn't like the US was a super secure nation at the time. So they weren't really all that gung-ho about entering a global conflict. On top of that the general public of the US was scared shit-less despite the pro-war propaganda. Again, most of the US saw the sheer deathtoll aftermath of the useless war of WWI and didn't want a part in it. But, if the US didn't give a metric fuckton of ungodly amounts of aid to Russia (especially just airdropping fucktons of fuel/oil, ammo and supplies) and Britain, Germany would have bulldozed both of them. I'd lean on more of the US, but each of the nations having their own support and without each other's support they would have fallen. But I am a bit biased towards the US anyways. No one single party was going to win this, and the Axis was winning. That and Russia originally sided with the Axis so that's a bit of petty shade at them thrown, and maybe now for good reason with them pulling invasions of Crimea and now Ukraine in modernity. So too, China licking their nation expanding ambitions towards the SEA region and regions of India's border. WWIII is going to be interesting if it kicks off (which I hope it doesn't and we avoid another bunch of retards thinking they're superior to the other and then making justifications to invasion, which seems to be the stem of the problems in these global wars)
