You know looking back, I think we were too hard on Iron Man 2 and 3. They're decent films

Iron Man 2 is good. Iron Man 3 is mid but it does have some of the best scenes in the franchise (Mansion attack and Air Force One rescue).

I saw iron man 2 in theaters but I was 14, so my face was buried in fat tits for most of the showing. Wasn't too into whatever Mickey Rourke was talm bout

2 is fine when it's being Iron Man 2, but it keeps grinding to a halt to set up later MCU movies, it's obvious they were still figuring out how to do the shared universe and seed elements for later installments. The final battle manages to be great but way too short.

Iron Man 3 was good until the Mandarin twist, which it never really recovers from. If you have a fake villain, the real villain needs to be better and more compelling then the fake. The movie not letting Tony actually suit up and be Iron Man for the finale of an Iron Man movie sucked, too.

Maybe, but they could have been much better and are disappointments compared to the first one.

Yeah, IM2 could be fixed with some judicious editing but IM3 has structural issues.

If you are an Ironman fan I just don’t see how you can hate it, it’s one of the most “comic booky” movies created. You get Tony drinking, war machine is there, you get a fight between him and war machine, they team up in the movie, they even got a scene of him with him with the briefcase that turns into the suit. It’s a good comic book movie and good to great ironman movie if you’re a fan.

This is coming from someone who could not give two fucks about the mcu and movie adaptions. Same goes for punisher warzone too imo

both films meander a lot and have piss-poor villain characterization, things that weren't present in the first film

Air Force One rescue was great in the theater, but the "twist" of that scene (Tony controlling the armor remotely) works only once, and it loses all of its suspense in re-watches.

Not one memorable villain in any of the movies.

they where both good concepts that could have been great movies
>Iron man 2
should have just been a straight up adaptation of demon in a bottle but Disney had to be massive pussies about it
>Iron man
director being a massive fag going ''what? do you want to see a yellow scare charicature on screen'' when he had a perfect modern adaptation for the mandarin RIGHT FUCKING THERE
I still remember people being insanely hyped to see the movie after that first trailer showing Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin

2, possibly
3, nah, that film deserved its shit. Having Ben Kingsley's Mandarin be nothing but a bumbling rube for Kilian was a total gyp. To say nothing of the fact that Extremis Pepper was also pretty damn lame. At least they didn't try to keep it around.

IM3 would have been better if they actually let Maya Hensen be the villain

By now I'll take any MCU movie that does anything to justify its existence. Iron Man movies has individual scenes and elements that make me glad they exist. Black Widow, Captain Marvel, Captain America 4 or Shang Chi do not.
