Seems like anything that is used as a toy comes to life so yeah
As long as it's played by a child and not just played but "loved" too
It's alive.
ANYWAYS personally I hope that they show us a toy "die" tho not by being destroyed but by being completely forgotten like
>be toy from the 1930s
>your one owner is the only one you ever had
>they're on their death bed
>they die
>now no one in the world has ever played and loved you
>you soon stop moving and the life-force is taken away from you
But then the catch is that they can get revive once a new kid comes along and that would give meaning to why they always try to find a new owner idk

honestly im being SO lenient here cuz I'm choosing to believe "love" is also at play here otherwise nothing is stopping me from thinking ANYTHING can come to life
Like if i'm kid and I jump on the bed that bed is basically a giant plaything... does it gain life? we've seen lego pieces and puzzles alive so they DON'T need to look like any sort of creature or from as long as they're a toy and that gets weird if you think too deeply about it

Ok so by the logic you've presented Kirk van Houtens race car bed could theoretically come to life

The case is a parasite inhabiting the tablet. Having a anthropomorphized design as case decoration now makes it alive, but has nothing to do without a tablet.

That would be a good way to explain the life cycle of a toy but sadly the writing of Toy Story already shows toys are immortal. Toy Story 2 had Jessie's much older owner abandon her for years. The only thing Jessie had was living with depression.

So toys cannot pass away. The only way a toy's eternal misery ends is if they get fully destroyed or if they intentionally choose a destructive suicide.

That is true....
There's also the plot hole of the toys already kinda being alive from the factory no kid needed
Isn't there a scene in toy story 2 where the toys in the mall are also alive despite never coming in contact with a kid nor knowing they're toys? how do they even keep it a secret anyways if they dont know theyre toys theyd just dont care and keep moving while humans are around right?

Yes the Barbies, the second Buzz and Zurg all of them are alive without ever being bought for a human. So they were never played with.

The world of Toy Story really is weird and we never find out how toys can be alive. The closest thing to an answer for why toys are alive is Forky in epilogue of Toy Story 4 being given a made up spork girlfrield and she asks "Why am I alive?" And Forky responds with a joke answer "I don't know."

We are supposed to simply see living objects as a fact of life in this universe because Forky is no toy.

honestly that's the thing from Toy Story 4... people disliked it because 3 was such a perfect ending but my issue with it is that it made me realise that 3 was actually the worst possible ending
They just restarted the cycle and are gonna go thru it again(as we can literally see from the fact bonnie already got tired of woody and how now she is gonna get more attached to s tablet)
So like 4's message of "be free without a kid" is honestly the only way these toys can be fulfilled without the looming and certain doom of their child growing old or bored of them.....

Don't forget the alien toys from the arcade claw machine they were alive without ever having a human owner.

To be fair the mere act of playing with that machine kinda by proxy makes it so people are playing with them too right?
you're controlling the claw after all

According to toys in the fourth movie they see playing with humans as a way to get pleasure and relief. So the liberated toys Bo was with are opportunists. On their off time they simply do whatever in a hedonistic lifestyle. And I guess it continues until they truly are ruined and destroyed.

Don't think it counts because the aliens never acknowledge the giants using the claw. In the end Toy Story refuses to answer questions. And the longer this goes on the more I resent the franchise.

I guess that's a little bit better then being left alone in a closet or feeling worthless because you've been replaced
they're actually living instead of constantly depending on a child
it's dangerous but I can see the appeal of the lifestyle.

>>149324905
Same.
It suffers from the same issues that cars has and when it goes on for too long it starts bringing concepts and explaining things and it gets harder and harder to hold suspension of disbelief especially when they themselves are the ones bringing up these new "rules"

What was that guy saying to get kicked like that?
>It suffers from the same issues that cars has
Cars gets harder and harder to suspend your disbelief cause they have teeth so you'd think that would lead to a stomach but in cars 2 they show under the hood and there's a normal car engine so like where do the mouth lead? They have meat in that universe where do they get meat? Why do they eat to begin with I thought gas and oil was their food they have sushi what do fish look like in that universe I don't think we ever see any

He was just bringing up scenes from the movies and generally agreeing how the rules of that universe got really messed up

According to a /tv/ leaker anon the tablet is a singular unit actually designed to look like a frog as opposed to a case on a traditional tablet
