Apparently the 1954-1963 version of Marmaduke is in the public domain, so you can make a movie about the evil version of Marmaduke and give people the grim reminder.

I would think a Old Marmaduke inspired movie would be kinda like Beethoven, but the dog is 1000x more evil and intentionally makes his owner’s and the neighbors life a living hell. The dog catchers would be the heroes who try to capture or kill the beast and save the neighborhood.
