Last Day of Summer is such a lackluster ending, only the final song has any emotion.

If Candace stopped trying to bust her brothers and Doof stopped being evil, then Season 5 of Phineas and Ferb would've been very boring. I understand why the writers undo Last Day of Summer and Candace Against the Universe.
The show wouldn't work without those plot elements.

What's with PnF fans hating LDOS all of a sudden? It's not the BEST episode ever, but a finale doesn't have to be. It just has to function as a fitting send-off, which the episode does by keeping to the main two conflicts that have defined the main premise after all those years while still feeling exciting. It's smaller-scale, but the time travel plot they went with feels thematically appropriate as their "last day of summer." I've always liked it personally.

Hey I finally reached this part in my rewatch, I really liked the final song and ending, but yeah, I didn't love everything about it.
Like, they go out of their way to treat Doof and Candace's goals as parallels, but only Doof as having to get over it because suddenly Vanessa is REALLY against it, even though previous episodes showed her accepting Doof's evil eccentricities and even being somewhat evil herself.
I dunno, like, while Vanessa was never really evil evil, she also never particularly seemed that willing to be good, so I thought her becoming an OWCA agent was just an excuse to force Doof out of the evil business, which I don't like.
A non-evil Doof just doesn't really work for me for some reason, he loses some of his edge and just becomes another wacky guy, so I'm glad season 5 is basically ignoring all that and just making him evil again.

Yeah, it was fine, but I still didn't love the ending of making Doof give up evil, his pettiness is a big part of his character, and making him good just made him kinda rudderless.
I feel like they just did that to see if they could make a spinoff with him, like Doof 101 or the OWCA Files, no wonder he's back to being evil now that the show is back, being evil is part of his character.

The first drawings of Phineas look like that Boy from a cartoon that used to be Cartoon Network around 25 years ago which was like it's own version of The Simpsons and South Park as it had a lot of Adult-ish jokes, that had everyone wearing space or futuristic suits and the Dad character (I think) had the same voice as Bob from Bob's Burgers.

That whole sequence never sat well with me since it didn't make sense with her character development before or since. It basically rewound all of her personal growth for the sake of making up a dramatic conflict for that one special.

I was going to give you a long plot breakdown, but all you need to know is that because of Candace and Doof, time and space was breaking apart, after they used an invention to make the day repeat over and over so they'd have multiple chances to accomplish their goals in the last day of Summer.
Doof actually becomes Tri-Governor, but Vanessa is tired of his bullshit and says she's leaving him for her mom, she then says he could just be good and he agrees, Doof is good, which is then followed up on Doof 101, OWCA Files, ans Milo Murphy's Law.
Finally, after they fix reality, Phineas, Ferb, Candace, and their friends sit down under the tree to talk about all their fun Summer memories. Meanwhile, at Doof's house, Heinz, Perry, Vanessa, and Norm do the same.
Then they all get together, sing a song thanking (You) for coming along, and the show ends.
