I think it's a good movie, but it doesn't feel like Frozen anymore.
I just can't imagine kids enjoying such a dense plot.
Still, it's visually stunning.

Impressive that the Frozen sequel managed to do all this considering it was constantly on the verge of falling apart behind the scenes

The story is a fucking mess though. The writers don't even know what the voice is (never mind why it punished Elsa for doing exactly what it wanted).

Also, Kirstoffs' original subplot was much better before they scrapped it and made him a comedy sideplot. There's not enough focus on relationship issues after characters hook up in Disney films.

I remember being pretty bored. The teaser trailer made it seem like it'd be some fun adventure but instead they had a few minutes of a travel montage and then spent the rest of the movie in some boring samey forest.

Terrible movie that wasn't nominated for anything for a reason. All of the characters are either out of character or they regress, plot and character decisions are nonsensical, Arendelle is 50% black and brown without explanation, hamfisted racism plotline, their parents are retroactively made even more incompetent. Olaf was the best character in this
>Elsa: actually I am defined by my magic, and I will shut out my sister and abandon Arendelle AGAIN!
>Anna: demoted from MC, character arc, scenes and songs are all cut out of the movie. Acts like an annoying and insecure nagging wife to Elsa for most of the movie
>Kristoff: Pathetic simp, no chemistry with Anna, missing for 50% of the movie

Fewer and better songs. The original had one really memorable song and about ten others that were either completely forgettable or plain bad.

Frozen 2's main song wasn't even written for it, it was a hand-me-down from Gigantic.

Why didn't the earth spirits break the damn right after hostilities started if it was such a big deal to the spirits?
Why did Elsa and Anna's mom save their dad? Why did she stowaway to Arendelle?
Why don't the Arendelle forces stuck on the mist look like they aged at all? Why are their uniforms in pristine conditions?
Why did Elsa randomly Freez when she discovered her grandfather's evil deeds? Why did she unfreeze when the dam was broken?
Why did the two warring factions all act buddy buddy with eachother just because Elsa arrived?
Why do you like movies with huge amounts of plot holes?

I'm not sure I would've liked this plot line depending on how they would've handled it after
This https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So7cD9BRmFw always makes me mad that it was cut though, they have 10 times more chemistry in those 5 minutes than in the entirety of the final movie, on top of it just being a great song

If anything that would have made it more apt though. It's tearing him apart trying to find the right way to propose to her, foreshadowing that he's feeling that kind of pressure constantly in his daily life. It's easy to forget that he was an anti-social loner orphan in the first film so it's natural that being forced into a world of constant behavioural expectations and regular social events would grind him down Also serves to show that Anna has grown from the first film and is prepared to call off a wedding on her terms.

It's clear it's just regal life that's wearing him down, and that he's still in love with her. Would have been some sort of compromise, possibly with them cutting down their royal activities a bit more and living somewhere with a bit more space.

Yeah I agree it makes sense for his character, it's just the fact that we don't get to see where exactly they were going with it. If they were planning to make them discuss it together and make compromises, Anna's initial reaction sounds a bit too extreme and non-understanding
If he does keep being a lord and adapts to his new lifestyle in the end though, I wonder what would happen with Sven. He's spent pretty much all his life sleeping with him at night, but bringing a reindeeer into your fancy castle bedroom sounds weird. And making them sleep separatly is inconceivable at this point I think

>Why didn't the earth spirits break the damn right after hostilities started if it was such a big deal to the spirits?
Apparently it has to be a member of the royal family that breaks the curse, since the old king was responsible for this whole mess in the first place.
>Why did Elsa and Anna's mom save their dad? Why did she stowaway to Arendelle?
The book "Frozen: Dangerous Secrets" tells the parents' entire backstory and answers this. It's a good book, I thought.
>Why don't the Arendelle forces stuck on the mist look like they aged at all? Why are their uniforms in pristine conditions?
They are very clearly much more grey and wrinkled in the present than they were in the flashbacks. Look closer next time.
As for the uniforms, I have no idea. I guess they're really meticulous about keeping clean?
>Why did Elsa randomly Freeze when she discovered her grandfather's evil deeds? Why did she unfreeze when the dam was broken?
The question that has bothered everyone and causes the whole film to fall apart. None of it makes sense, you're right. The glacier is evil, and Jennifer Lee is a hack. Best answer I can give you..
>Why did the two warring factions all act buddy buddy with each other just because Elsa arrived?
She's the queen of one side, and family to the other. Plus the whole magic powers thing. If she tells them to stop fighting and try to get along, they're obligated to listen.
>Why do you like movies with huge amounts of plot holes?
I don't, I just like Elsa.

I hated it because there was little actual scenes, it was just back to back music and you could tell they were framed solely in a way that could be posted on YouTube as a music video. It annoyed me to know end. They were clearly just forcing as many songs as possible in their in hopes of one or more getting super popular. At least 1 had actually good scenes
