I'm sorry, but I really fucking hate this show. Why was this show so popular? It treats kids like braindead morons. If you compare this show to Reading Rainbow, WordGirl, The Electric Company, and Between the Lions (which are FAR better reading comprehension shows!), this show acts like it's audience has no intelligence and it also butchers already existing fairy tales. Can someone tell me why this show was so popular? I get that it's for toddlers, but toddlers deserve GOOD TV. If you compare it to other shows for young kids that are similar like Reading Rainbow, WordGirl, Electric Company, and Between the Lions, it's far worse in comparison and basically feels like a soulless show that acts like the viewing audience is mentally retarded, while WordGirl atleast was smart enough to not talk down to 4 year olds

It really treats kids like fucking morons. There's a lot of "Do you know what this letter is?" and it's not even in a super welcoming way like Blue's Clues. I have no idea why Super Why was popular when Reading Rainbow, Between the Lions, Electric Company (both original and reboot), and WordGirl are WAY better reading comprehension shows for 3 year olds

Cartoons are good. WordGirl was a great show for toddlers. There's no excuse for Super Why to treat it's audience like they're mentally challenged, when WordGirl was able to be a smart and funny show for 3 year olds and teach them vocabulary in a clever way that didn't talk down to them, nor went over their heads

Childless adults have absolutely zero business watching children's cartoons.

And another thing. This show is about superheroes, but they don't even do anything super-heroic except heavily watering down fairy tales to make them have no flavor to them at all.

This show taught me basic English vocabulary so it will always have a special place in my heart. Plus the artstyle is cute

Eh, WordGirl was far better at teaching 3 year olds vocabulary and that premiered at the same time as Super Why

This show was popular? I only remember it airing on PBS like 15 years ago.

I feel like excessively listing very specific examples is a telltale sign of a very specific kind of autism, just like AI giving itself away by overusing em dashes and three-count lists.

They are fucking morons. And it's for literal toddlers. WordGirl is for 5th graders who are still forced to watch PBS because their parents are too poor to afford cable

Uh, anon. Unlike something like WordGirl and Bluey, Super Why is unironically a baby show. Of course it's gonna talk down to its core audience--preschoolers.

Between the Lions, The Electric Company, and Reading Rainbow were for 3 year olds and they never talked down to their audience. In fact, they were actually kind of cool shows

That's still no excuse. Reading Rainbow was a baby show and it never talked down to kids at all. LeVar Burton was a cool host who did a great job showing 3 year olds how good reading can be
