You remember the old movie where Bridget Nielson had to fight Sandahl Bergman and the latter, as an actress, just completely outclassed her in terms of both ability and just presence and had to really struggle like she wouldn't just break Nielson in half. This new Sonja looks like more of a twig than Bridget Nielson. Also goddamn Sandahl Bergman was nice.
Looks bad, but at least they kinda have the costume. Can't be too picky, tho. I doubt most audiences even know who Red Sonja is.
It does give me an odd spartacus/ shitty 300 vibes to it, that I don't really hate, I like this sorta of movie. If they keep focused on gladiator fights with an epic combat in the end I will even say I can pirate it. This is a lot coming from me.

>>149339868Man the original Conan movie is something else, isn't it? It's such a stark, beautiful masterpiece. In many ways it's nothing like the Robert E. Howard stories but it's a gem all the same, and I do think it captures at least some of the spirit of Conan as a character.

It's exactly the sort of thing a gladiator might wear, since gladiator armor was so often designed to show off their bodies to the audience rather than protect much.
