People often take things completely out of context if it works as a quick snippet. Like the Hebrew nonsense line from Prince of Egypt being used by the extreme right when Rameses gets fucking scared shitless in the next scene as the Nile is turned to blood. Or "brevity is the soul of wit" being said by the dumbest character in the play, who then says the actual smartest thing in the play delivered in a massive monologue where the humor comes from making "brevity is the soul of wit" seem even more retarded.
