Who said you can't do three origin stories at once? I always liked New Frontier, it's one of the more clever JL movies because it has the Trinity front and center in the marketing but it focuses on all the "secondary" members of the league. Wish we got more of it

The only thing I really took away from The New Frontier was it was a Green Lantern movie more than anything. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are all established heroes, they just operate independently. Character development and plot advancement happen primarily around Hal.

I like the movie but it cuts out some stuff that is, more than it may seem, pretty essential. The comic feels in a lot of gaps and while I do dislike how Superman got taken down early into the fight there's a scene in the book that explains why Earthlings have to be the one to step up.

I'd say Aquaman got shafted by the movie by simply being reduced to "I believe you might have lost this," by returning Superman to the surface but then who cares about Aquaman.

Yes but the movie was presented more as an ensemble story. I guess it's kind of hard to tell a true ensemble story in just two hours of runtime but for the heroes that weren't Hal it came down primarily their attempt to figure out how their brand of heroics fit in a post-Korea world but otherwise business as usual.

it was just 75 minutes. If they had an extra half our or so they probably could have done a lot more. I don't know why these movies feel the need to reduce their run time. Well I do actually. It's all budget related but some of them really got hurt from not having more time and some probably could have done with less. All Star Superman also really needed a bit longer to cook. Though honestly that might have actually been better as a tv mini series or something.
