Why did everyone hate it?
I actually thought it was fun even if the narration took me out of it.

I thought it was fine but the designs are admittedly a bit dumpy/ugly. I think CG animation is going through the growing pains of realizing why most media chooses to have attractive actors/characters regardless of the target audience, most people are shallow and will forgive huge writing and plot inconsistencies if the visuals are amazing. The exception is pure comedy works where being average/uglier can be helpful in making things funnier.

what the fuck do you mean? It was kino and a bunch of rage bait couldn't stop it from being discussed years later like you're doing now. If you missed out on having friends and going to concerts then that's on you for not having anything to relate to. But go on, bring up periods metaphors again without mentioning how hard Billie Eilish's early 2000's parody of boybands is

Only a vocal minority of inceloids was yelling over "le woke", being about a girl = bad or the artstyle.
It was pretty funny.
All about the mother issue was great.
Not a single valid criticism to make it look "bad".

Turning Red doesnโ€™t feel like it has a real conflict or stakes. The original pitch for this movie was the main character running for class president with the red panda shit derailing her campaign plans. What we got instead has so little going on that they had to contrive a random giant monster for the climax because they couldnโ€™t be assed to think of anything better.

I don't like the style and the premise sounded stupid and doesn't have the whimsical premise that a Pixar movie should. Luca was probably the first one to show the warning signs, but Turning Red made it clear that Pixar doesn't know how to do whimsy anymore.

sounds like projection to me, because cinematically it's no masterpiece but to call it trash or beanmouth is to discredit the ambitions of the creators who succeeded in creating a vision of early 2000's pop culture phenomena mixed with generational development and youthful hijinks. I'm sorry if you never went to a concert or snuck out for a party but for a lot of people that's relatable imagery. I'm not saying it's a masterpiece but damn for some reason you always get anons bitching about this one in particular but if you shut the fuck up and just go watch the damn movie you'd at least appreciate the effort that went into this compared to faggy shit like Elio that serves no purpose and isn't even good

>visually and spiritually ugly
>immature
>divorced from the time period it's set in (not just 9/11, although that's by far the worst instance)
>director was clearly just using the film as a vehicle for intellectual masturbation (in addition to physical masturbation)
>appeals to the lowest form of sexual deviants (pedophiles and furries)

In short, it's a movie that didn't need to exist and actively contributes to the erosion of Pixar's reputation as a company. Honestly this movie should never have made it past the conception stage and its a further demonstration of how much of complete fucking idiots Iger and Chapek are that they greenlit a quarter-billion dollar budget for it instead of using that money for literally any other purpose (like you know, improving the parks or avoiding layoffs).

I actually appreciate it's heavy stylization and visuals, it's great to see 3D pivot from hyper realism and have characters be so expressive, but the story is a complete mess. I have no idea what the panda analogy was even supposed to be going for (yeah yeah, it's all ultimately about generational trauma, but it started as a puberty analogy? it feels like so much of that plot was chopped and changed along the way and it came out a complete mess). Main character was also not really compelling or interesting, I found the mother to be more interesting if anything which is not great.

Pixar??? This looks and feels more like that French or Spanish studio that did the likes of Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods, Planet 51, Rabbids Invasion: Mission to Mars, Ladybug & Cat Noir: The Movie and Mortadelo y Filemรณn contra Jimmy el Cachondo (seen here) and that German Studio that did Snotty Boy as they would more likely have and still get away with a Character or a villain in one of they're movies that has Hitler Mannerisms in his design and attitude.

I don't think it was particularly the worst in that regard, it caught the attention of older women too being a 2000s period piece the premise kinda works. It feels very reminiscent of those tween movies where the mother and daughter are clearly at odds and only see eye to eye at the end or whatever. Like a Freaky Friday kinda movie or some made for tv nick or disney channel movie. I think the problem was it being fugly and obnoxious looking honestly+the disney branding.

They stopped making G rated movies because theaters don't want parents to bring in screaming infants/toddlers theaters while also using their trash bins meant strictly for paper snack trays/bags for dirty dippers.

And while only popular in India and other 3rd world countries such as those from the middle east, Africa and parts of South East Asia since the first world (US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) has Game Sack, The 8-Bit Guy and LGR; GOD FORBID IF A PARTENT OF A INFANT/TODDLER PULLS OUT COCOMELLION FOR SAID INFANT/TODDLER AND HAS COCOMELLON PLAYING/RUNNING AT FULL VOLUME BECAUSE THE INFANT/TODDLER IS ALREADY BOARD OF THE MOVIE!!!!

Thats why we can't have G rated movies anymore, if the film gets a G rated IT'S STRAIGHT TO STEAMING/DVD/(4K) BLU-RAY.
