I've been watching Gunn's movies since I was a toddler, when the first Scooby Doo dropped. I know his flaws and strengths as a writer more than most people. I know the kind of person he is, because he is the kind of person I am. This movie... I don't understand why people are shitting on it, after seeing it. This is not only easily his greatest achievement in film (outside of Slither & PG Porn). Not just that, though. This movie absolutely shits on Israel with the most stereotypical Khazar Jew since Oliver! (anyone denying this is outright lying to you). BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! The movie isn't taking its main focus away from Superman for politics. It's bringing politics under the focus of Superman - the true Superman - and showing what he would say and do if he could be here today. It's a philosophical film. It calls into question if being a normal, good person is needed today. The answer is yes. None of this spiteful fluff and drama matters. You're superficial, awful people. I just want to live up to my own expectations, and care for others. And this movie represents that desire within me, very well. A movie makes me want to treat others better than the real people in this life encourage. That's pretty pathetic, and you all seem scared of being kind. I love you, anons. I love you. If I were to die in the next 10 minutes, I would be happy. I have spent so much time worrying about if people were lost. I don't think so, anymore. I think things can change.

Unrelated song I like (post music you like, too):

nigga, what are we supposed to say. I posted my own review here and no one cared either.
I thought it was good, but lacked a good core theme/point/message to lift it above the rest of the superhero genre.

Granted I've only seen three superhero movies have good enough themes to be a genuine film in my mind. Superman 1978, The Dark Knight, and Wonder Woman

Me too. I've been a Gunn fan since Troma. I completely trusted him with Superman and he didn't disappoint.

I know he doesn't accept fanmail but I want to thank him for Superman. Also, I am really excited because there is no fucking way we're not getting Guy Gardner vs Lobo.

> I don't understand why people are shitting on it,
When you realize most people on this board are mousecucks who are absolutely terrified that the MCU is under threat, or actual paid Didney shills whose paycheck could see a significant reduction in Rupees if the film succeeds, everything falls into place.

I want Superman to be cool, and he seemed like a loser in all the trailers and snippets I've seen. Why would I want to watch it?
The same goes for the Lex Luthor. I don't want him to be an Elon Mask parody or something.
And I don't actually care about movies shitting on Israel, it's meaningless either way. As if it'd actually change anything.

I wouldn't call the movie (or any cape movie) a "lifechanger", but honestly as somebody who dpesn't read the comics (to hell with their clusterfuck of reboots, multiverses and crossovers) I liked this version of Superman and DC much more than the edgy gritty crap from BvS and JL (can't comment on Man of Steel since it has been over a decade since I saw it and I don't remember a thing about the plot). I felt that the secondary conflict between these fictional countries was a blatant attempt to use the Israel-Palestine war to draw attention to the movie, tho, and was the only part of the movie I didn't like. Again I don't know if this is from a comic or something original.

I'm not a shill. I get it, it's a new movie so there are going to be paid astroturfers. But I'm real as a heart attack. I have seen twice now. I took a date yesterday. It took a lot not to cry in front of her when the Iggy Pop song started. Because I know they reframed it as caring is the real punk rock but the message was "What's so funny about truth, justice, and the American way?" And as someone who has turned from his love of hatred to follow Christ, the message resonated with me deeply.

>I’ve been watching Gunn films since I was a toddler
None of us want to think about that dude, that whole ass adults exist whose only relationship with the 20th century are the YouTubers they watch. Honestly I think the reality is people just don’t care anymore, even on here. The knee jerk “it’s woke” assumptions just seem to be ways of keeping these threads bumped on the catalogue. It seems serviceable from what I’m seeing in general though the leaked scenes are pretty laughable in general. Gunn is a solid idea guy but at the end of the day I don’t think he’s capable of running a major universe because I don’t think he’s capable of writing different feeling things that you need for something like this to work but I wish him luck.

Also gunns best movie is super

1. Why aren't you poiinting out the fact that Superman kills and sadistically likes to knock people' teerh out?
2. The meatphor is Russia invading Ukraine
The jew playing Jimmy Olsen is openly sionist and Gunn would loose his job as a capeshit big budget director if he was openly anti-Israel the same way he is openly anti-Trump and anti-Russia, not to mention the coward dont dare to verbally attack China cause he needs the chinese audience fir the film to make profit

I understood why people were shitting on it before seeing it.
There's people whose job it is to promote the "shadowy cabal is trying to poison the West with wokeism" conspiracy theory. They are paid by well-known enormous think tanks and billionaires to poison the West with fascism.

Every time a movie comes out that's a breakout hit and has themes that touch on civil rights in any way, Ben Shapiro has to go see it and then immediately make a video from the theater lobby describing how everything in it is some kind of destructive far-left ideology.

>I've been guzzling Gunn's cinematic goop since I was a crusty lil goblin watching the first Scooby Doo through a Capri Sun haze. I know this man's slop cycles better than I know my own bathroom schedule. I am him. He is me. This new greasebomb he dropped? People are throwing poo at it, and for what? This is his magnum slop–excluding Slither and PG Porn, obviously, those are divine filth. But wait, the meatball rolls deeper. This isn’t just a spandex flick. This thing obliterates Israel with a character so cartoonishly Khazar-coded it makes Oliver! look like a documentary. And yet somehow no one’s blinking. You're blind. All of you. Lying like rugs at a CIA garage sale. AND STILL... it's not even about Superman doing taxes for the DNC. No. This grease opera slurps politics into Superman's orbit and makes you chew on it like a soggy burger of morality. This film doesn’t just say “be good.” It punts your soul across a flaming Kroger parking lot and yells “DO BETTER, YOU CRUMB.” I watched this and immediately helped an old lady cross the street and told a raccoon I loved him. That’s the kind of cosmic soup we’re sippin’. This movie made me kinder than any human in my life ever has. That’s terrifying. Y’all are allergic to kindness. You flinch at empathy like it’s gluten. I love you, slop goblins. I love you all. If I dissolved into jam in the next ten minutes, I’d die smiling, thinking about Superman telling me to hug a stranger. Life’s not over. Change is possible. Pass the slop.
