Supergirl was always doomed. But this movie performed so-so, like expected.

It's still possible that positive word-of-mouth might turn things around, but if I were James Gunn, I'd be sweating pretty hard right now.

MoS was buoyed by the residual goodwill from Nolanbats (yes Rise sucked but people still hadn't fully accepted it by that point).

Is it unlikely to make it to $500 million? That's the apparent amount needed to allow the film to be considered a success

Yes I'm sure hundreds of millions were invested into this project and just as much more spent on marketing because the plan was for it to do "so so"

We want someone who likes the ip to direct the movies. Not someone who hates it and wants to eliminate the parts that are important specifically.

Maybe relying on international markets is an outdated strategy in general.

It's basically the next stage of cope
>The theaters will be empty like Marvel's recent movies, you'll see
>It will get a rotten critic tomato score at the start
>the audience score will be rotten at the start
>It will bomb opening week
>It will underperform to expectations opening week

etc, etc

$500 million is recovering the investment. Studios don't make mega productions to just recover the investment, especially when WB is going through economical struggle
