Gunn can't have his way because his Superman is going to make less Reeves Batman. The priority at Warner Brothers is going to be The Batman 2 now. Gunn is rightfully is losing influence in DC and will get demoted.

It's really just people that cant leave well enough alone and enjoy standalone experiences without them being part of a grander universe that demand that Reeves batman be part of Gunn's shit. Also really funny they want that considering how "grounded" Reeves wanted the Batman to be to the point that Oswald's name was changed to Oz for realism and now people want Reeves for batman to be a four color comic book type movie?
