I remember my uncle took me, my brother and cousins to see this and he was so fucking hyped. We left out the theaters and he was beyond fucking pissed saying and I’m not lying saying “this ain’t my X-men”. Me, my brother and cousin thought it was ok but my uncle was beyond upset, didn’t even take us to McDonald’s to get food how mad he was.

I didn’t see it in theaters, but I remember my local Mexican Blockbuster carried an issue of Cine Premiere with the X-Men on the cover. I wanted to buy that magazine but the clerks didn’t let me because there was an article within that issue about sex scenes in movies (I was 11 at the time).

Yea my older brother asked him why he thought it was so bad (he was the oldest out of all of us) and he was pissed that storm and cyclops weren’t doing more cool shit alongside Wolverine. He told us at the time X-men is Cyclops, Wolverine and Storm.

He took us to see all the comic movies in the 2000s and I can’t remember one that he liked. He hated X-men the most because he was a legitimate fan. So much so he would lie and tell us they’re making an alpha flight movie soon, we had no idea who tf alpha flight was but he made them sound cool. I truly miss my uncle Reg man.

Loved it as a kid and as an adult but looking back, it wasn't the best adaptation.

Captured the feeling quite well but yeah, could've been a hell of a lot more faithful. Storm aside, the casting was pretty on point though.
