I don't understand why they wanted this for so long. Even if you liked those movies, Cavill was getting older, and even if you intentionally wrote the reboot with an older Superman, audiences were obviously done with those versions of the characters. Bringing back the old actors would've just left a bad taste in their mouths. Again.
