An adaptation of Fraction's recent run as a base concept would be good to do as a serialized 6 to 10 episode one time only series. I don't think we need years and years of DCU TV shows, not with the cinematic actors.

And Fraction's run opens with Jimmy waking up from a The Hangover/Vegas style wedding in Gorilla City, except he marries a foreign alient thief/spy girl.

I'm not interested in a one to one adaptation. We don't need the Lex family and Olsen family relationship or ownership of the DP, or all that other stuff. The murder would be fun, and definitely the call backs to Silver Age insanity as well as the visiting the nooks and crannies of the DCU - instead of meeting and being threatened by Batman, he should meet and be threatened by Red Hood, for example, and saved by Dick, who knows Jimmy from Big Brother Clark (since this Clark is only early 30s, he can't really be Uncle Clark to Dick).

I love that Jimmy and the News Legion kicked off both the Cadamus and Fourth World stuff but it's far too complex and should be introduced by itself, and without all that excess, it's not necessary.

I think you underestimate how many people would watch a Jimmy Olsen show

I always liked the idea of making a slice of life comic on a superhero universe where the fact the superhores are more in the background and don't matter much and you follow just a normal guy going trough his day.

For an indie comic, something like astrocity, or a short run for dc more for fun because DC loves this sorta of stuff. For an actual series for normies? Hard to seeing it working, because the show would be a Jimmy Olsen show only in name and it actually would be an not so stealth show on whatever more interesting character they woul definitly focus on like clark or superman and he would be cucked of his own show because producers and about anyone would lose interest on him 3 episodes in.

This is definitely the sorta of thing it only works on paper, but in practice without someone really committed to the idea it would never work, because no audience would be interested in it outside the autistic guy "jimmy olsen numbah 1# fan" doing it.

Not as forced and cringe as a Amander Waller tv show where it's "uh this actress is a BLACK QUEEN she needs projects!"
