Anton's a small little TV show, but it's a comfy little series I grew up on over here in the Netherlands. All the episodes are also online on YouTube.

Sweden, Sagan om Karl Bertil Jonsson's Julafton (The Tale of Karl Bertil Jonsson's Christmas). It's a story about a rich kid working at the post office, stealing Christmas presents heading for rich households and instead giving them to the poor. The gifts all turn out to be ridiculously lavish garbage - the rich don't miss it, and the poor have no use for it, displaying the absurdity of the Robin Hood figure and the unassailable nature of societal inequality.

Anabel, I remember watching as a kid and thinking it was pure kino. Fun show high energy that spoke to me, but I only watched a bit and it was hard to catch on tv. Now a days I appreciate the cute loli goth very common at the time period.

Historietas Assombradas (para Crianças Malcriadas) also is a close second to me, that I watched a ton and really really enjoyed, but I don't like the designs as much, and also I hate the voice acting of one character in particular that makes watching this impossible. I almost kinda wish this was a gringo production just so I could watch with a different dub, but is so full of inherently cultural stuff that anything outside the original dub will butcher much of the charm.

I'll try to find one in the Internet archive. Jokes are delivered better if you know Spanish vulgar slang, but you can still try to read it. Or you can watch the movie which is the peak of Spanish comedy imo

Actually not that easy to do for the UK, we do surprisingly well at exporting our cartoons and the ones that don’t get exported are usually pretty shit. Duckula maybe? I don’t ever see non-bongs talk about that. If we’re including adult stuff though, Monkey Dust for sure.

Really? Duckula, Danger Mouse, and Animal Farm are known here in the US. What we didn't get was the English dub of the later seasons of the Mysterious Cities of Gold.

Checked and interesting to know on both points, I know Danger Mouse was exported but I wasn’t sure about Duckula. I wouldn’t have expected Monkey Dust’s humour to land that well abroad, it is VERY British.

Back in the early 90's (dunno about now), Sweden's one commercial channel, TV3, had its headquarters in England in order to circumvent Swedish laws against advertising aimed at children. That channel also bought tons of English cartoons, which lead to Sweden even getting some shows that were never even exported to the USA, like the Dreamstone, for example. As for Monkey Dust, that's probably just me - I saw it online, it never ran on TV here.

Stopit and Tidyup, maybe? A series of five minute cartoons narrated by Terry Wogan and sponsored by the Keep Britain Tidy campaign about the bizarre inhabitants of the land of Do-As-You're-Told probably didn't spread that much.

Around 80s and 90s they were big in Germany too. At least they were a main comic in the comic racks with the Disney comics.
And i think they still have a big following. They made a book collection.
