After everything that happened with Warner and the long hiatus, it's a miracle this franchise is still alive, but the mood within the fandom seems a bit murky. Even with several projects in the works, people are simply exhausted and unenthusiastic.

Honestly the first step is already done. Alan retained ownership of the IP and characters, what he doesn't control are the episodes made by Warner, so they're canon but not really. Since he's lost big money funding he's full independent so things will take a while.

I enjoyed the HBO Max episodes, but I feel like everything got too spread out with all the loose comics and social media accounts and ARG shit and whatnot. The lore and worldbuilding nowadays seem so inaccesible and like a slog to get into it kinda killed my interest.

Also, many have said this but I think I would have preferred a show starring Black Hat as an up and coming villain trying to rise to notoriety but hindered by his incompetent lackeys (like the shorts made it seem it was going to be) instead of the show we got starring the lackeys while Black Hat is basically just a God.
