>>149414200 (OP)You am absolutely right, Specific Person Whose Identity is Known
>>149414200 (OP)It really does, Year One, Yellow Bastard, Hard Boiled, 300 and Big Guy are peak Miller in my opinion.
>>149414200 (OP)It's great.
>>149414561All of those are less good.
Why did Superman jerk off Reagan so much?
>>149414729Compromise. Superman only gives Reagan the bare minimum interaction and it's obvious he's just being civil.
>>149414729Because Superman is Batman's foil and thus if Batman is anti-authoritarian then Superman must be pro-authority. That's the reason.
>>149414729wanted an invite to Epstein Island, which Lex made out of kryptonite crystals embedded in the sea floor
>>149414729Because you didn't really read the comic
>>149415157>reagan>epstienI think they are a generation apart anon
>>149414707with better taste than you
>>149414200 (OP)It influenced future Batman stories to the point where it's nothing special.
Also I can't like this art. It feels completely off for a Batman story.
>>149416842Batman was already moving in a darker direction in the 70s.
>>149414200 (OP)It's okay, only the sequels suck.
>you know thing that's goOK? Um, It's actually bad, ok?
>>149414200 (OP)just finished reading it for the first time a few days ago after hearing how great it was. It's incredible how mediocre this comic is
>>149417560That's your fault for letting other people's hype affect your opinion, retard
>>149414200 (OP)then don't read batman year one is just James Gordon: year one featuring some batman.
I think one of the most jarring things about DKR is that it's a pre-1989 and BTAS Batman. So Gotham doesn't look quite as gothic and dark(though there's some cases of art deco architecture visible), and Batman is far more wordy than people would be used to.
Neither of these things is that distant from Batman comics of the time(there are some 70's and 80's Batman comics with gothic ambiance, but it wasn't a constant. Batman still existed in a modern day setting), and Batman in general is far more talkative than he would become in later years.
A lot of people get told DKR is what changed Batmn, but it's really more of a major point of transition between the 70's and 90's.
>>149416842It has yet to be surpassed.
