I'm surprised Matt Frank didn't do any art or covers though suppose he's strictly at IDW though he did one of the Marvel Ultraman covers. If he came along would've gotten a more on model Godzilla plus would've used the Against MechaGodzilla design which is one of my personal faves.

It means that it's a comic that a casual reader today could pick up, someone 10 years from now could pick up, and someone 20 years from now could pick up and understand it just fine, without being bothered by things happening in current canon like "why does the Human Torch have a weird mustache?", "why is Doctor Doom sorcerer supreme?" or "why is T'Challa not king of Wakanda?" I bet when the X-Men show up they'll also ignore the current status quo for the sake of convenience.
It's how DC does most of its inter-continuity crossovers.
