FPBP (Once AI can make Tom and Jerry cartoons, then the industry is screwed)

And that'll never happen because generative AI can only make shit that's 90% similar to something that's already been made before. Literally, it produces the rough average of its training data. If it can ever make something similar to Tom and Jerry, it will still be a pale knock-off of regular Tom and Jerry. The human ability to create from nothing always wins.

Also also: it costs more than a low level (even with morally correct and dignified American wages) animator, never gets better, and fucks up 70 percent of the time.

It's that repulsive fucking far too fluid movement like everything is melting into itself whenever something moves.

>Channel is just dedicated to pumping out AI pilots every week
Huh? Like if you can easily make so much content why pump out pilots instead of working on one series at a time? Is it because the word [pilots] get more eyes?

As with all new technology, it will creep up getting more and more better with time, especially with financial incentives, have you seen how the ridiculous amount of money governments have been giving AI companies? its quite literally only a matter of time at this point.

Because the technology is for people that value quantity over quality. People that are just chasing a dopamine hit of "look a the neat thing I genned".
Look at the AI thread here. It's the same five or six guys posting the same disney princess but bikini slop over and over; dozens of variations on a single prompt, because when you can't really curate or control for quality the only other option is a deluge of bullshit.

The cop one might work if they lean more on the jank. Some of the shots look almost like shitty rotoscope, so, if they made it more like a proper parody, maybe learn from classic edited chinese/hong kong movies edited for american markets, they could get something truly fun here. But they want to be "legit" and this shit look terrible as "legit".

FUCK. I laughed twice at the third cartoon and had to shut it off. I don't like where this is going.

They're probably just A/B testing and will dig into a series if people like it. The AI version of Cartoon Cartoons.

This is going to be devastating for cartoons since the modern cartoon audience is exclusively made up of children and lowest common denominator trash that thinks they're actually super sophisticated and smart.
I for one am all for it, because it'll be funny.

Ok, so, I could see something like the second one working as a quick full motion storyboard or something but it would have to be completely redrawn before shown to an actual audience.

I've worked as an animator, peg on perforated paper, this shit is insanely more productive than a single person, this channel is doing the work of a whole studio and it's probably just one dude. Sure there's janky bits, but I've seen much worse on TV

Eventually you won't be able to tell, we're almost there.

Neural Viz is the only person who can create good AI animations, and a large part of the appeal of his content is how weird it looks.
I suppose it could work to create horror stories if they exploit the uncanny valley effect.

I saw someone try that and it got hard following the plot cause character designs would change rapidly so you couldn't tell which character was which.

Because the goal isn't to use AI to make a show all on his own. The goal is to make a pilot that gets picked up so he can be an idea guy, get network money, and not even have to do the "work" of prompting.
