I wish there were more movies like it. I wish I was living in the timeline where CGI didn't kill 2D. This must be how people feel in the timeline where Nintendo and Sega didn't save video games after the video game crash.

On a technical level? Absolutely. I've always found the movie as a whole a little overrated. Not by much though.

It's still the prime example of how to blend animation and love action for all I care, at least 2D animation. No other movie comes close to it.

I think so. They wouldn't have needed to lean so heavily into other non-Disney IPs since the gimmick was already introduced and Roger Rabbit's name alone would have probably attracted a large audience for a sequel. But that window's closed a long time ago by now. Few people are going to get hyped for Roger Rabbit in 2025. Anyways, we kind of see the themes a sequel could have worked with in the comics.

Doomโ€™s true form looks kinda eh in this. Pic related looks way cooler, and much more accurate to his colors.

Whenever you ask this question, you have to ask: is there any CG sloppa? If yes, then no. If no, then yes.

I always wondered why his true form in the comic is basically just Christopher lloyd from the movie. If Judge Doom was intended to be Baron Von Rotten's Human disguise, then why would he choose a skin suit that looks almost identical to how he was drawn? Idk, I guess the entire point is that toons don't operate on logic.

Not needed for sure, but wouldn't have been unwelcome either if been made at the time and by the right people. CG Roger Rabbit wasn't it though.

I'd imagine the looney tuners would be way too expensive for a sequel. It was crazy that Disney got them for the first one but since it became such a huge hit I bet WB would ask for a lot more.

If they ever make a Plastic Man movie they should do it like this. Just make him all CGI and some what cartoonish (but still looks like he exists in 3 dimensional space and has some weight to him)
making him photo realistic would be gross

Better than Back to the Future 1 and 2.

It's known for being an incredible blend of 2d animation and live action that hasn't been topped even in the age of digital editing and cgi. It is a paramount example of what dedicated film makers and animators can accomplish.

Yeah I'd say so. It's a really solid movie with a great story and the blend of live action and animation still looks good to this day. It also has a wild cast of characters, and is pretty much the only official Disney/Warner collab we'll ever get until one buys the other out.

The animation? Hell yeah.
The movie itself? Boring.
Roger is annoying, even Richard Williams admitted it had no emotion.
