She’s not a great actress but this part isn’t made for great actresses, it’s something very hard which is to convince the world that she is some kind of goddess/human hybrid. Lynda Carter (also not hired for her acting skill) did that and Gadot did it, and it’s not just about looks because beautiful people are a dime a dozen in Hollywood.

It’s not her fault the second movie went wrong, but she was a good choice. Zack Snyder has pretty good casting instincts, I’m not a big fan but his choices usually work.

I like Zach and have liked him since the Zach days but either the script was badly written and gave him painful dialogue or he made bad choices. He's been trying to get cast as something even before Chuck was done filming it's last season and good on him to put in the effort to workout but he's only good in comedy, the attempts he's made for pure drama aren't very good.
