Yes. I literally watched it the day before yesterday for the first time on a whim. It’s pretty good actually. Plot isn’t anything crazy, just your standard forbidden romance really BUT it’s still told pretty well and the animation actually is really fucking good. Also I wanna fuck Ember right in her firepit, and don’t say

because that’s wrong since I WILL figure out a way to make it work because my love is pure. Anyway OP is full of shit, Air does have a major in the form of Gale, who’s Wade’s boss. She gives the couple their quest to make the movie happen, AND is heavily involved in the big romantic sequence. Really it’s Earth that gets screwed because Clod does fuck of all and is only there for a couple of jokes at the beginning and the end, and every other Earth character is only there for a couple of scenes.

Pixar wanted to have a fire character fall in love with water. That's half the classical elements there, so might as well have the world populated with the rest.

What was even the point of making this movie at all

At first they were gonna have a villain that was making life hell for the fire people but then they decided to have no villains in a story about discrimination and disenfranchisement, which are conflicts that require a perpetrator be society or a politician

It's as if the writers thought there should be no villains in movies because it would make people, especially people in power, feel bad
