Can we have a PeterPam thread? The original anon never named the ship so I’m gonna call it Spiderlily

Spiderlily is okay but kind of a stretch on account of her name isn't Poison Lily. and it's only inspired by how PeterPam (way better) sounds like Peter Pan, so you had your mind on that.

I'll be honest in that I really never had a concrete name for the ship but I do like PeterPam or Peter X Pamala since it's less silly then calling it Spivy or whatever to me personally and has a humanizing touch. Also I'm happy that other people have interest in my ship so hopefully can wring some fun discussion out of this thread. Might have to comm some more art soon to.

I honestly find the possibility of AU elements really interesting here because in a shared Marvel/DC universe this really could arise from the butterfly effect.
All it would take is a past Ivy transferring to midtown during college after her accident and we already have a different origin point

What flavour of Peter X Pamela you want we've got
>Younger student Peter dealing with part time teacher he gets on with but full time eco villainess, either way crushes hard
>Middle aged Peter well into his career getting a curve ball with an intellectual rivalling and taste appealing new villainess on the block
>Spider themed superhero struggling to reign in Poison Ivy's unsavoury traits while teaming up as hero and anti-heroine that gets on but clash method wise
>Civilian Peter Parker who's get the lustful attention of Supervillainess Poison Ivy but as Spider-Man her great distaste for foiling her crusade for nature and webbing her up in flattering but humiliating ways.
More flavours are potentially available if we factor in either else world versions like Noir Spider-Man and Gotham by Gaslight Pamela, Mangaverse Spidey and Batman Ninja Poison Ivy and if you're lucky might get a Poison Ivy with the Lasher Symbiote.

Yeah since then she would transfer into being in Spider-Man's rogue gallery with probably the knock on effect of one of Spidey's rogues becoming more a batman villain as a trade. Also I do think her in midtown during college can be explored in fun ways of she's either a troubled fellow student who he manages to get on with due to shared interests plus seeing his more Ditko esque chip on his shoulder in her or alternatively Pamela is slightly older and his teacher that she eventually grows fond of him over lessons plus both running late but they both risk discovering the others secret identity due to their growing closeness.

I like the idea of Peter being a fellow student and finding out about her being Poison Ivy after defeating her for the first time. I think Spider-Man would probably be much more sympathetic towards her than some other villains because he knows she’s legitimately mentally unwell. Remember Pamela constantly hears the Green screaming in her ear, demanding justice for all the pollution and destruction of the environment.
Combine that with Marvel NY’s population and I could see her sometimes acting as an anti hero who targets Ock, Goblin, and Fisk

I'm not really into pregnancy/impregnation stuff myself but really it depends how much someone is willing to spend or if an artist ended up liking the ship. Though I'd say younger Peter and Older Pamela would be your best bet since that's all the rage of older seductive woman and more youthful somewhat nerdyish guy is a popular dynamic with porn artists.

That is genuinely an underrated idea of Poison Ivy going after other villains if they are either corporate types or tied to wide scale natural destruction. I do remember once thinking be fun if she was briefly on Doctor Octopuses Sinister six made of 3 Batman villains and 3 Spidey villains but eventually either betrays or gets betrayed due to her growing feelings for either Peter or Spidey. Also could see Curt Connors becoming something of a friendly platonic figure with Pamela both having green history lol. Could see him being pretty sardonic to Peter about crushing on an eco terrorist at first to but still trying to help out.

I could see her in a more intially villainous phase biting of more then she can chew when she deliberately makes Connors turn back into the Lizard with a modified serum what with her being an expert chemist but then having to deal with either a giant feral Lizardman or potentially worse one that's a genius and even more misanthropic then her. Could even get a taste of her own medicine since Lizard recently had that weird reptile brain mind control power stuff in Shed. Could even be what gets her going more heroic when she and Spider-Man have to team up to stop the Lizard after he breaks her free from it. I think it's interesting is initially Pamela does do bad things and has strife with people before she opens up or lowers her guard due to her backstory plus just personality flaws since it'd be boring if she's just got an attitude problem but doesn't actually do villainous acts she has to makeup for.

I could see Superior Spider-Man much like the actual storyline following up after a major Sinister Six plot, though a significantly different one. I could see Doctor Octopuse's one consisting of himself, Mr Freeze, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Electro and Mysterio with this being their last stint before they all go seperate ways going forward with Pamela finally becoming a heroine being a factor to. Though it'd maybe also be fun if instead Pamela was on Beetle's all girl Syndicate with maybe Orca and Roxy Rocket to. Really merging Spider-man and Batman just opens tons of story possibility even with my ship aside.

You ardle making me think of that one fight scene from The Batman 2004 but on crack and kinda loving it. I think one of the other fun ideas is how Peters friends and family react to Pamela. Being intially surprised that he's hanging with this utter bombshell but then it clicks once she's a science and nature obsessed weirdo despite looking like God's gift to sex.

That's fair, usually the biggest indicator of Harley quality besides the design is whether she's voiced by Arleen Sorkin or Tara Strong. The Batman 2004 is also a pretty decent Harley with having one of the few healthy relationships with Joker and also being more overtly villainous but in a fun way. Though ironically despite finding what they go for Poison Ivy interesting she isn't one of my fave versions. I quite like Brave and the Bold Poison Ivy and one of the few times don't mind her with green skin. I prefer when Poison Ivy has a human skin tone, full gloves n boots with a leotard preferred.

I agree on the Poison Ivy. And I also agree on Harley though there was a part of me that liked the DCSHG Harley.
I really think the difference between a good and a bad Harley is whether they’re genuinely nice before meeting the Joker or not and whether they feel regret.
I liked the original Harley because she’s clearly a nice person deep down, just one who got manipulated by what’s essentially a cult leader.

Yeah there sometimes are cases where Batman's villains work wether portrayed sympathetically or more villainous regardless but certain ones it's a hard set rule they work better with specific characterisation and traits. Joker when played to much as a serial killer monster becomes utterly boring or eye rollingly lame, Bane is better when his intelligence is highlighted alongside his physical threat and as you mentioned in Harley's case she works better when she's clearly someone who's decent despite enjoying the wacky villain antics, doesn't give kids exploding handheld games and also doesn't look like a crack whore who acts utterly flippant and guiltless about her behaviour. Poison Ivy tends to lean towards being sympathetic but they also sand off way to much of her negative traits or seductive attitude that's hard coded into her character that she loses her charm.

I like to think the Joker and Poison Ivy work best when they are allowed to develop as characters.
Poison Ivy should start out as more seductive before becoming sympathetic while still retaining the seductive angle.
Joker in my opinion should deteriorate over time. Starting out as the zany criminal who would realistically be allowed to live by the courts before slowly becoming more and more murderous as his obsession with Batman causes him to escalate. As he becomes worse more allies should leave him. Insanity is a disease, let us see it get worse over time
