Some French guy using a popular non-French IP to finance his original fur fiction he was unable to sell
pic related is what the original graphic novel looked like
This also happened to The Bad Guys and Heathcliff
What causes this phenomenon and why can't French furries do a straight adaptation?

The smaller companies know that the best way to get a large audience for original IPs is to throw some furry waifus in there, cuz adults will watch a kids' movie just for that. Meanwhile the big studios are churning out beanmouth human-centric garbage

sorry anon, didn't mean to offend
Nah, I've only watched the Chickenhare movie and I thought it was good; I am actually looking forward to this sequel
I just think its funny how common it is for comic adaptations to follow this weirdly specific production history; pic related is another example of this and like pic related, a more accurate adaptation of the the Chickenhare comics would also be really cool, but, reading about the comics, it would probably be more suited for something like Adult Swim

Eh, you did not "offend" me, just reminded of the many cases when an adaptation makes fans of the original angery. I know that feeling, as a fan of The Shining, I see people praise Kubrik's cinematic take and all I want to do is frown.

Is every animated film starring animals made by furries? Why else would they make the female animals look so sexy
Anonymous No.149468938 [Report]
Anonymous No.149468987 [Report]
>>149468934
The answer is complicated. To understand the truth, forget about labels and just pay attention to what people do. Those artists who really want to draw and animate and write animal people, will inevitably end up making animation about animal people. People who like doing X will end up doing X, that's how the world of art works. So whether you want to label those artists and writers as "furries" does not change the fact they love what they do.

Having said that, furmaid.

just watched it, and i honestly think this might be the most "just ok" movie i've ever seen in my life.
voice work was ok, the story was predictable as hell, animation a bit above average.

the cubic pigmies was the only interesting bit if i'm being honest. for a story about being yourself, it sure as hell doesn't do much, originality wise.

6/10 it's alright

No, the animation was very good. Like, sure, you can say what you want, but you should not be an animation professor anywhere, you would give everyone bad grades for no reason.

i'll give you that, the craftsmanship behind the animation is pretty damn good, i'll admit i was downplaying it a bit for the neutral meme
but dunno, i feel like there's no big wow moment that really hit me, animation wise.
the pigmies stacking/chase was probably the closest thing.

the story and dialogue really brought everything down quite a bit in my eyes, it was genuinely distracting.

still i'll keep an eye out for the sequel, hopefully they can write something better and put out a damn good movie
