Any good comics YouTube channels?

I’ve found Casually Comics is fun in her deep dives on certain characters and more obscure silver age and golden age stuff.

Plus for some reason recently she’s managed some pretty high profile interviews with big creators like Mark Millar (and his daughter who’s making some cutesy animal comic I guess) barely any views on those but its interesting hearing these longer interviews where they don’t just stick to talking points about whatever they’re promoting and talk more broadly about aspects of comics they’re fans of and

Wonder why/how she even gets these interviews given how little views they get. But maybe even pretty popular comic authors like Millar don’t draw much attention online

Good interviews. Interesting hearing Millar’s thoughts on psychic Sam feeling like a visceral character appropriate for the times for the same reason the punisher and deathwish and stuff like that was massive in popularity in the late 70’s and 80’s. Surge of anger, division, desire for simple answers to complicated issues. Characters that just kill 2 dimensional scumbags and solve problems easily fulfill a mental need in that sense

I guess there just aren’t that many journalists looking for interviews with these people. She had a good one with the Red Sonja crew I think too somewhere

For a while, Millar was barely posting on twitter but a few years ago specifically mentioned her as a youtuber he likes. He's a big SilverAge Superman fan and around that time he was reading Silver Age Superman books as bedtime stories for his daughters, so that might be how he stumbled upon her.

For the love of comics or something like that was good, doesn't seem to post much anymore.

There's a trio of middle-aged jewish new yorkers who get like 40 views per video despite having been on youtube for nearly 2 whole decades and they've interviewed EVERYBODY in the modern comics industry.

The community hasn't been as much fun ever since Benny died.

Comics is a niche industry which affects youtubers. You can find a billion talking about the movies and adaptations or telling you about THAT TIME SPIDER-MAN STOPPED MAKING JOKES but real comic book content is almost non-existent. It's just the same dozen names keeping it alive

I really like her videos for this reason. She seems to have a genuine passion and she doesn't condemn the problematic parts of these comics at all. She is also a huge Halfag which is a plus for me.

There aren't a whole lot of dedicated comic book channels without controversy.
I mean, none of these people would want to be interviewed by Linkara.
Others like Comic Tropes don't do interviews, with puts Casually Comics as one of the forefronts of the niche on Youtube.
Especially since the rest of biggest comic-book-youtubers basically just read new comics directly to their fans, which would probably annoy industry insiders who'd rather people buy them instead of watch them.

Do you think comic books could do better if there was a better Youtuber culture around it? 90% of Youtube is just reading a wiki page or retelling an issue. Movies have reviews and memes. Booktok doesn't just explain the events to you. They share their experience with the books and they share fun details they noticed enrichening the reading experience. The group makes the hits. Comics don't have that. CasuallyComics is better about it since she's covering Silver Age so who gives a shit but most channels are just glorified piracy which then in return disincentivizes reading comics. Even the biggest hits like Ultimate Spider-Man don't get talked about. You might get one thread here but after that, it's gone. No one's talking about Absolute Wonder Woman. No one followed through with Ultimate Spider-Man. I feel like Youtubers have the biggest influence over the conversation but they simply don't use it so even great books go unnoticed. You see #1 covered but no theories on what could happen next or what they feel about the book. Just a summary that doesn't even keep up with the series long enough to complete the story you were trying to summarize in the first place.

I recently came across the channel "matttt - comic & manga history" on YouTube. Really good historical comics channel, featuring some foreign comics and notable authors; recently did a really good video on Blacksad.
