I firmly believe that the Spumco-influenced artists in the industry, like the people who worked on The Day the Earth Blew Up, Fixed, as well as all the modern SpongeBob alumni, hate beanmouth with a burning passion, but don’t wanna speak up about it due to of fear of getting blacklisted from the industry. Remember that Patrick Star Show joke shitting on beanmouth?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=92lJMD0WKSs
Should I also mention that industry professionals in this circle like Dylan H. King and Tobias Krebs follow Spumdonor on Twitter?

Ngl I’d be pretty pissed off if I was an animator who got my show greenlit and the executives forced me to beanmouth the characters cause they’re like the only people who adore the style and think it’s "appealing". It also sounds dystopian how all the Spumco-influenced artists in the industry are regulated to the SpongeBob mines for eternity.

I feel like the non-spoken hate for beanmouth in the industry depends on the area in the industry where you are, people around the Adventure Time/Steven Universe/Gravity Falls circle probably don’t hate beanmouth as much cause beanmouth is those shows identity, which is funny cause those kinds of people claim to be rebellious in the industry despite how generic and corporate as shit their art looks. There’s a very good chance that the Spumco circle loathes beanmouth but don’t wanna talk about it cause we live in an industry where criticism isn’t allowed nor are artists allowed to hold cartooning to a higher standard.

It's so weird to see this kind of inflammatory humor in Spongebob of all things. If this is one of the best things they can come up with then it's no wonder so many people hate it.

It sucks how style over substance modern SpongeBob and The Patrick Star Show are cause the artists working behind those shows have some real talent. Modern SB needs good writers to accompany good animators, Kamp Koral is basically what you get when you take post-sequel SpongeBob and get rid of the great art direction.

So is Alex Hirsch

Though why would Rock using Smiling Friends as an example of beanmouth? That show is one of the few examples of an artist-driven adult animated comedy these days, it’s artstyle is very Newgrounds-like, it doesn’t deserve to be lumped with soulless corporate beanmouth slop.

Alex Hirsch is the anti-John K, instead of acting like a loon for the benefit of the animation industry he instead acts like a loon for the benefit of the beanmouth style and writer cartoons.

Funny cause he acts like he’s a rebellious animator but isn’t doing shit to further the medium of animation. Same with all the fuckers at JellyBox who claim to be "saving the animation industry" without mentioning the fact that executives are forcing cartoons to look like generic beanmouth slop, they’re quite the "rebellious" animators there.

Some people will call every modern media beanmouth just for the derogatory sake of it. Just cheap slander at this point, just saying "popular is le bad" without saying it.

We don’t hate beanmouth cause it’s popular, dumbfuck, we hate it cause it’s corporate, being forced onto all shows via executive meddling, bland, overused, and still hasn’t gone away since the 2010’s like artstyle trends are supposed to

Wow, that shows artstyle sure is unique alright

Giving credit where credit is due though at least the show tries to be expressive and stray away from the model sheets, though for most of the time it has the same issue as Big City Greens when it tries to be expressive, where all the expressions look like minimalist unwashed ass rather than stuff with construction.

You are aware John K is heavily influenced by Bob Clampett, right? The Day the Earth Blew Up is based on the same guy.

Hell, John K's big break out cartoon was the New Adventures of Beany and Cecil which was originally animated by Bob Clampett. This leads to New Mighty Mouse which lead to Ren & Stimpy.

Fun fact: The New Adventures of Beany and Cecil features the first cartoon to be written by Paul Dini and directed by Bruce Timm.

My point is that many artists in the Spumco-influenced circle have worked on Looney Tunes-related projects, honestly I feel like modern Looney Tunes projects have took a bit of influence from R&S, they feel far more expressive with more well-structured faces than in the classic toons.

Spongebob is different because the crew is different, most notably the creator, and the times have changed.
If your claim was true you would have to hate all classic episodes written by an artist. It is nonsense born of wanting to tell artists what to do regardless of the state of the medium.

The issue is that while the new artists are talented artists, the writing doesn’t feel much like SpongeBob, it feels more like it’s trying to be like Looney Tunes or Ren & Stimpy. Honestly the series was always kinda cooked when Hillenburg left cause it’s always the original showrunner that gets it right. Season 11 was the best post-movie season because Hillenburg returned to the show before his passing and it had great writing as well as great animation, ever since his passing the modern episodes have gradually felt less like SpongeBob.

The biggest flaw many wacky cartoonists have these days is that they don’t realize that writing, much like art and animation, is a skill that requires years to get the hang of, they’re talented but they seem to put all their eggs in one basket.
