A short stop on the long road to Success. The X-Men films never quit just because Last Stand, First Class, Wolverine Origins, and The Wolverine were of mixed or middling reception, and the various Marvel movies in the pre-Iron Man Age never stopped just because something was a big bomb once.

The best way to get the international market is to make games and other media were people is invested in dc again
If Lanterns is god tier thanks to the hbo pedegree i can see DC gaining momentum again but overall people are just tired of normal capeshit.
Hope Gunn takes something like New Gods and turns into something like LOTR.

It's very neat, we've never seen a live action movie really show a world entirely used to superheroes already. Worlds where random superheroes or villains can just show up because they also live in that world.
Closest we've come is the MCU, even then. A show like Moonknight, despite being very deep in the MCU's timeline, never mentions any other hero.

Reminder that with each passing day, the theater cut of the box office money gets bigger and the studio gets less. In addition, international releases overwhelmingly favor the theaters, so even if it suddenly has a surge in Korea or China or whatever, as much as 75% of the box office money could be cut out from the actual amount of money that could make for it.

I think they're implying that in the 3 years Clark has been Superman he's had evidence to suggest Luthor was making moves against him but could never prove it until now. It's not a good luck to barge in and confront Luthor until there's solid reason to given the optics. And through the public eye, Luthor is well liked given his advancements in science

Consider how rare Kryptonite is. It's a radioactive element that didn't exist until Krypton exploded, and only a fraction of it was caught in the gravitational pull from Clark's lifeboat. Consider that, along with the space it could have landed in, the meteorites might be incredibly hard to find or in private collections at this point. So Lex can either scan the entire ocean to find a rock, or he can devote his labs into finding a way to synthesize it. Given that its been 3 years, it's probably still early trials. Although perhaps studying Metamorpho will lead to a breakthrough

Not according to Smallville.
I appreciate the TV show had some 20+ episodes to fill up every season but the radio never needed to rely on Kryptonite every instance so this was very lazy on the part of the writer's room.

I am glad that have said that there isn't any Kryptonite on Earth, by and large, although I assume they will go back on that and introduce Batgod with Bat Prep Time having a Bat Vault just stuffed with all manner of all color Krytonite or some shit like that in the future, especially because nonsense that ignores canon is right up King's ass and Gunn is apparently taking his 'comic book knowledge' from that hack.

One of my favorite little details in the film is when Superman is fighting the kaiju, it's on the news but barely anyone is paying any attention to it. Presumably, because stuff like that is a regular occurrence in Metropolis.

Technically there are no known deposits at this time. The meteorites could have landed anywhere, and we're talking pieces ranging in size from baseballs to maybe basketballs. So they're either deep in the ocean, or foreign governments have them in storage with lead lined casings.

Either way, it's not something that's on the table.....yet. Assuming Lex never cracks how to manufacture it. Might be a good excuse to introduce Firestorm

that's too many. i'd say do one rep per hero.
if they use Bizarro for a solo Superman sequel he probably wouldn't also be on the Legion of Doom. that'd be a good chance to bust out the Lexo-suit.
somewhat of a tangent but while we're on the topic of Superman sequels, I think Mr Mxyzptlk has the chops to be the main villain of a movie, if they went with a more malicious portrayal. something akin to his stint on Lois and Clark.

Mxy would be amazing, but my choice is John de Lancie. Have him basically be Q from Star Trek. Have him as more of a helpful trickster figure who's trying to teach Superman a lesson he doesn't understand until the end of the movie but he comes off as antagonistic at first.

These were both effectively stunt movies, where they try to include a bunch of surprise characters to pull people in. You can't do that forever. They need successes with just one off super hero films that aren't huge events.

Gunn already said it's not a straight up Superman sequel. Possibly BvS 2.0 because they want Batman in this shit already, but it could also be a Supergirl teamup or maybe bringing back the Justice Gang for a bigger adventure

I was really thinking LOSH would be the perfect way to do a Superman sequel by including a style of team up that Gunn loves to do and have a cool villain like Brainiac finally face off against Superman.

Gunn seemed to shoot down the idea though in a recent interview, so who knows at this point.

Honestly, I feel so conflicted. On one hand, I just want to be done with capeshit. On the other hand, this new DCU seems to be taking a path I absolutely would have chosen myself when I was a big comics fan. Who knows, maybe Gunn will manage to pull me back in continually.

I wouldn't want a World's Finest thing because it'd be too similar to BvS. So hopefully a Superman/Supergirl teamup thing going on where they fight Brainiac.

>>149484269
I feel like it could be too soon to do LoSH anyhow but it is disappointing that we might not really see that team in this universe, because it seems right up Gunn's alley.
