Change my view: it's almost impossible to write good, interesting Superman. Inb4—I'm definitely an outsider and poorly educated on the subject, but I just can't see how this is possible. My reasoning:
>raised on a farm
>can't make this his character because no one wants a hick Superman and they won't allow a "conservative" Superman
>also a reporter despite his yeehaw upbringing, somehow
>obviously hard to take it seriously that no one recognizes him as Clark
>any real life / professional difficulties don't look believable since he's Superman
>not much story for the city he's in
>no real philosophy except "be a good person"
>the image of biological parents is inconsistent, with Gunn exacerbating things
>few if any villains beside Lex have motivations worth a shit, let alone a worldview, so nothing tob challenge but beat them up
>also for a franchise this big, how many famous villains he got, again beside Lex? No one even knows who Brainiac is
Maybe I'm dead wrong (and I'll admit that is proven so), but I think in the end there's a reason why Superman only beats up gods & saves people, and so many stories center on his adoptive/real parents, Lex and kryptonite before jumping to DCU/JL. There's just not that much more to do with Superman.

You must understand superman is a jewish construction and a jewish fantasy. Once you accept this it all comes together.

Take care.

Still no argument. Btw, I do want my mind changed, because comic types generally say "ackshually, Superman IS well written! He IS interesting in the comics!". Then you ask for simple examples and proof, and no one responds.

You post no real topic. You know how many super heroes are just normal people, and are omni-powerful to a point of being Superman themselves. You just have a problem that Clark Kent is a normal person with a good heart. You have nothing by envy and distain for someone you are not.

Kill yourself Lex

Have you actually read any Superman books? Because it sounds like you're just grappling with the vague societal idea of Superman instead of actually doing any fucking homework.

It's not anyone's responsibility to hold your hand and educate you on the matter.

The only interesting aspect of Superman’s story is that he’s an alien living on earth but that’s rarely played up since Kryptonians are all just humans who wear funny clothes.

Superman is easy to write. He's just a nice guy with super powers. Just figure out where he fits in. I just did the same thing that James Gunn did over the past three years. Same kind of story. Only difference was I had Princess Celestia use her sun and moon to grab his escape capsule and just surrounded him with ponies instead.

The real problem is the constant redefinition of the character. Wholesome farmboy, alien, omnipotent powerhouse, or messiah, the writers have never been able to relate to someone who is "better" than humanity by definition, and so can't imagine what that state of being does to someone living in Lex Luthor's world.
If he's just some rural good-guy then what does god-power do to his psyche?
If he's a morally evolved alien mind living in America then why isn't there more social commentary?
And the test of if true good can allow evil to exist undermines the insistence of his absolute ability.
DC needs to pick one identity for him and commit.
