I didn't care much for original Black Zero though the pirate empire idea was cool.
I think it was basically instantly forgotten after the issue came out (just like with Clark's hypno-glasses)
Kids didn't like it so...we won't mention it again.

as far 'guy who blew up krypton" idea goes: if they were going to make a character actually responsible for it they would just say it was Brainiac. I know Brainy has shown up in absolute Superman but I don't recall them giving him an origin

DCAU Propaganda, Brainiac should just be the reason kryptonians don't rocket in space anymore. Krypton blow up is a metaphor for a society that blew itself up with anti-culture rules
