What are your biggest hopes and wants from the channel?

What insider rumblings and rumors have you heard about it.

For instance, TMNT 87 is allegedly coming in the Fall, and Quick Draw McGraw is in restoration and music clearance in order for it to air.

I was disappointed Nicktoons started airing the old TMNT show like a year or so ago and then just pulled it. I stayed up late and was enjoying it, especially seeing classic April on TV again after years of shitty incarnations. But now I have to adjust my antenna to get this channel to show up again to ever see it on TV again (because a live broadcast is what's appealing about this whole thing.)

I hope it continues to do good, it's really cool
An action block would be cool, but I'm on the fence on whether the Timm shows belong there just yet. They are 30, 25 years old but I do worry they would overshadow more of the older action shows that don't get aired as much. I would prefer if it was just shows like Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Herculoids, He-Man or the Filmation DC cartoons
More anime would be interesting too, but nothing from the anime boom onwards. Stick to shit like BOTP, Astro Boy, Gigantor, or weird stuff like Prince Planet. Don't make the mistake Toonami did with selling a "throwback anime block" but using crappy modern dubs, Gatchaman has a more modern dub from 2004 but that is not what their audience thinks of when they see those characters
Disney would be amazing but Neal Sabin has said that's probably a pipedream. Weigel... possibly has some connections at Disney, theyโ€™re able to show 20th Century Fox shows, but who knows whether those are legacy deals. Terrytoons are much more likely, they've been trying and Weigel has a good relationship with CBS, only problem is CBS doesn't give a shit about Terrytoons
The Cartoon Lost & Found show they've been talking about for a while sounds fascinating, right now the only show I've heard'll be there is Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse but there's a lot of weird shit that would fit in H-B's catalog alone, something like the "Look What We Found" block

G-Force is no longer owned by Turner Broadcasting/Warner Bros, the rights reverted to Tatsunoko in the mid 90s
Battle of the Planets is still somewhat available, Sentai Filmworks owns the international rights I guess? G-Force is in this odd situation where it's not appealing to weeaboos because "muh accuracy" but doesn't have the recognizability of BOTP. It's probably fucked

US Astro Boy is actually public domain. I'm an lawyer with a hyper fixation on the show.. apparently the original Astro Boy had it's English dub audio distorted after a studio fire at NBC. all are still available but in poor quality which is why you'll never see certain episodes on TV.

TMS also wants royalties for their footage, thats the main reason why Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain and Tiny Toons are not on MeTV Toons, Freakazoid was by Animal Ya who was a contract studio and WB and Amblin get the same about of money on Freakazoid as they do on the other 3 hence why MeTV Toons was able to afford Freakazoid, but with Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain and Tiny Toons they also have to pay TMS royalties for their footage (as part of their 2020 lawsuit with Warner Bros about getting back stabbed on Animaniacs'2020, TMS won the court case) which adds in another party which makes it that MeTV Toons can no longer afford it.

But since MeTV Toons is a massive success they can now afford the extra costs.

Cartoon Boomers should just air DBZ, 0079 Gundam then to show how they can get ratings.

MeTV Toons is getting over 20 million views per show, they don't need DBZ and Gundam.

Neither Thundercats nor COPS were on MeTV Toons' lineup yet. I've been watching that channel since late July 2024 last year and never saw either of those shows on its lineup.

The closest MeTV Toons has had to Thundercats and COPS were Silverhawks (which was added to the lineup earlier this year) and Police Academy (which was on the lineup ever since the channel launched last year).

Personally, it would be cool if Dragonball and Gundam made the lineup, but a couple issues could complicate things aside from licensing either anime.

In 0079 Gundam's case, despite it being a 70's anime, it got dubbed MUCH later compared to other 'boomer' anime like Astro Boy, Gigantor, Speed Racer, Marine Boy, Star Blazers, and Gatchaman as well as 'Gen X' anime like Voltron, Robotech, and Dragonball. Those running MeTV Toons might hold that against 0079 Gundam, especially it didn't benefit from the same 80's and 90's nostalgia factor in America as the boomer shows, theater shorts, and other 80's and 90's shows.

In Dragonball's case, even though 80's and 90's shows are on the lineup, how would MeTV Toons handle Dragonball itself? Would it skip over the Pilaf/Tournament 1/Red Ribbon ArmyTournament 2/King Piccolo/Tournament 3 sagas just to get to the Saiyan saga similar to what Funimation pretty much did in the 90's? Would MeTV Toons just license the censored dub for nostalgia and call it a day? Personally, I'd rather watch DB with its original music and without the censorship, but MeTV Toons probably couldn't get away with an uncensored DBZ the way Telemundo did.

That would be convenient, especially for viewers outside of a given channel's market. Maybe some other issues prevent this from being the norm.

You're talking about a tv antenna, I mean it's only on free satellite tv, which is very hard to get becuse the equipment is not sold to the general public in most parts of the world.

If metoons started airing anime it would be most practical for them to air the old dubs of them.
Stuff like robotech and harlock harmony gold series.
Im fine if they dont but if they do it should be stuff that aint seen the light of day in years.

MeTV Toons is primarily distributed through over-the-air television that you can get with a normal antenna. Maybe the channel isn't in your market or you're too far from the tower.

licensing content to broadcast usually doesnt come with a license to stream. if i called up WB and asked to license road runner cartoons for broadcast, they would charge me based on how many people my tv station theoretically reaches. an internet streaming license for the same content would cost a shit ton more unless i could prove the stream was adequately geofenced
