>>149501896 (OP) anyone know the reason why they never showed him in spiderman(tom holland) he was just made of sand most of the time he was on screen, was it something to do with him looking very aged? they changed electro to look normal so im abit confused
>>149501896 (OP) It's simple and identifiable. More importantly Sandy is someone who's rarely going to be seen in a fancy costume regularly anyways with the way his powers work so giving a public hood a more casual outfit works. Plus the time he did get a costume it was..... this.
>>149514708 wouldnt it literally be cheaper to just have him in a green striped tee instead of just having a cgi person there, surely thats gonna make it more expensive

Steve Ditko's designs could be weird, but you will never forget them.
>>149501896 (OP) he's literally just a dude that has sand powers, but at the same time the shirt sticks out enough that you can immediately tell it's the character at a glance, he doesn't need a flashy over the top costume or anything because it'd ultimately take away from him
>>149513652 either they didn't want to pay him or he was busy shooting something else, he's one of the few characters you could get away with doing that for too aside from Lizard
>>149515401 Now that you say it, yes. That rings a bell.

>>149515402 thats fair, i think he was filming twisted metal at the same time maybe? it was just weird to me that they would spend more money to make him cgi rather than having him there and i was hoping someone would have a concrete answer.

>>149514732 What the fuck are you talking about The Wizard made the costume for him when Sandman was a part of the Frightful Four. It wasn't just for the looks either, it had a functional purpose - it allowed Sandman to inject various chemicals into himself to be more versatile with his sand.
Does Sandman have any good stories about going legit and, like, getting a job in construction or something? Feels like a lot of villains could just sell their skill set for good money, instead of robbing banks.
Sandman being on the Avengers would have been very interesting. A former Spidey villain sometimes backing up Spider-Man or going against him as part of that team would have been cool.
>>149501934 Half the cast had the exact same haircut in comics back then. Even Peter looked the same.

>>149501896 (OP) Because it just works. >Realistic and grounded (pun intended) costume >Doesn't clearly advertise his powers/theme, but does contrast well with them when they're on display >Works well as both a modern design, while also harkening back to the classic goon of early pulp comics >Surprisingly unique for basically just being civilian clothes, without being gaudy in color
>>149513663 hey he needed some formal wear for when he fought the Fantastic Four, can't go around in a striped shirt even if he changes it to purple for the team theme
>>149529723 Go read the FF special mini that dropped yesterday. It's ostensibly about my boy the Thing but Good Guy Sandman showed up in a story and it's great.
Im still amazed that Spidey villians go from fat old man who is smart enough to make his metal arms into a threat to apocalyptic level threats who are so stupid they can be beaten by Spiderman
>>149540618 Heโs an a lost spidey villain so that pretty much puts him in the a list in general

>>149540618 Thoroughly stuck in the "Absorbing Man tier". Obscenely powerful but thankfully too dumb/unambitious to be the world class threat he is capable of being so is relegated to being some prick's mook or generic bank robber
