The show was honestly good until season 3, then season 4 opens on a fucking Fortnite reference, a reoccurring character whose only shtick is that he farts, and they broke apart the main character for the sake of pointless drama
It should've ended on season 3 because it was one of my favorite shows in the past 10 years and I immediately dropped it halfway through season 4

Season 3 concluded almost everything except for the big bad elf guy. The writers had no fucking clue what to do for season 4 since it'd otherwise be very short so they fucked it and dumped it. It should've concluded with either a movie or 3 part miniseries, not 4 more season of absolute shit and filler

I'm not going to claim it as a fact, but you can tell from the quality of season 3 and 4 that they had no idea how to resume the series. Plus, iirc, season 4 was delayed, which might've played a role

They wanted since the beginning more seasons and time but Netflix didn't gave it to them.
So they cut short most of the story and plots and tried to wrap things up in seasons 3 in case they wouldn't be renewed.
After that Covid happened,most of the writers left, Ehasz got "me too", and new female writer got hold of the productions.
This left everything a mess with no real idea on how to proceed and with many bad takes from the writers that were put in the new seasons, like Rayllum breaking up and having Callum be the one to apologize.
They also tried to raise the age rating to but we're apparently denied which seems to result in some tones of the story being dilated down, like some rumors say that Viren to save Soren had to kill another infant which was changed to just the tears of his wife.
The cherry on top was also that doubled down on not finishing the story In these four new seasons and try to get 3 more which resulted in them not pushing the plot and just buying time with useless scenes side plots.
It was a complete disaster and I'll never forgive them for what they had done to Rayla

this show's drop in quality was genuinely impressive. with season 4, everyone was like "ok, well that was...a hiccup. but hey, that was set up! the next season will be better!" and then season 5 fucking sucked. then, hope was lost. season 6 was a bit of an improvement and gave us some hope. then season 7 was fucking abysmal. it's fucking tragic. they didn't even end the storyline with the seasons netflix gave them and now they're fucking panhandling for fan support. what a fucking downfall
