Every single legacy character. I could be wrong but I always felt it hard to imagine writers going up editorial and pitching that they want to replace some long established hero. Most of the time that has to be an idea that editorial pushes out and writers volunteer to do.

"Industry plant" is just a buzzword for "I don't like [thing] but want to imply my opinion has moral weight to it." People who work in an industry are part of that industry and the industry promotes itself. To not qualify for the accusation of industry plant an artist would need to self-publish using their own equipment, distribute outside standard channels, not promote themselves, and not make any money.
